I agree. I don't mind their music though, although the style has become somewhat clichéd with numerous similar bands springing up of late.

I'm a big fan of Nightwish and with some goodwill I guess they can be termed Prog Metal.

Will, Will, Will (said in a slightly exasperated voice, the note of each "Will" decending slightlyLOL),

In the other Nightwish thread, http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1939&a mp;PN=1
you indicated that you were judging the band by their best of collection. Now we all know that you shouldn't judge a band by their "best of's". Such albums are commercially orientated collections designed to rip of an unsuspecting public.

Jings, if we judged Genesis by their "Best of's", they wouldn't warrant being here either!

I realise you don't like Nightwish, but that doesn't in itself mean they should not be here. There are I'm sure, bands each of us doesn't like on the site. Just ignore the ones you don't like, and concentrate on the ones you do. It's highly unlikely any band is going to be removed from the site once their on, so it's probably better to draw on your positive energy, and fight for the ones who are not here who you think should be.

Nightwish are certainly not beacons of traditional prog, but they sit well with the symphonic prog metal of bands like Rhapsody, Symphony X, perhaps even Dream Theater. They warm my codgels on cold nights!
