Topic: Muscial Artistes in Prog Lyrics Posted: March 30 2006 at 12:37 |
Listening to Nadirs Big Chance by Peter Hammill the other day and
hearing Stevie Wonders name mentioned in the lyrics to "Two or Three
Spectres" I was wondering how many other groups or singers are
mentioned in Prog lyrics, probably loads, but I can't think of any
others at the moment.
Something to get yer grey matter working (or not)

In "The Sun In My Eyes" on the new Tangent CD, Andy Tillison mentions Yes (as in "get my head kicked in for liking Yes").
He also mentions those other well known prog giants Suzi Quatro and The Rubettes.

'Smoke on the water' is about fire in the studio they were recording in, in Switzerland. The Studio was on a lake (in a ship) and therefore: 'Smoke on the water'.
