Listening to Nadirs Big Chance by Peter Hammill the other day and
hearing Stevie Wonders name mentioned in the lyrics to "Two or Three
Spectres" I was wondering how many other groups or singers are
mentioned in Prog lyrics, probably loads, but I can't think of any
others at the moment. Something to get yer grey matter working (or not)  |

David Bowie mentions Bob Dylan few times in his songs. Also Bob Dylan is in Sgt. Peppers' front cover.

In "The Sun In My Eyes" on the new Tangent CD, Andy Tillison mentions Yes (as in "get my head kicked in for liking Yes"). He also mentions those other well known prog giants Suzi Quatro and The Rubettes. |

Altough the don't sing it, but "Happy Family" by King Crimson is supposed the be about The Beatles. They are on the cover of the album (Lizard) as well. ------------- Dona Nobis Pacem |

'Smoke on the water' is about fire in the studio they were recording in, in Switzerland.
