This one is largely in line with what Lorenzo is saying. I'm on a statisticians' mailing list where statisticians and some epidemiologists have discussed this, and it seems all are fine with it. The data is in line with what's published by official sources. Arguments seem to hold water. It's very long and statistical, but makes a lot of sense.

The problem is that this virus creates in a great number of subjects pneumonia that may require intensive therapy that is artificial respiration. This is my last day at work. I will be working from home starting next week. We're going to try and ride this one out and hope a vaccine arrives sooner than later. The U.S. may be 1-2 weeks behind Italy. Drastic actions need to be taken soon before our hospitals become overwhelmed.

I am shocked by Boris Johnson's speech that he wants to prepare the people to lose their loved ones, or grandparents, in the name of the economy, hoping that the hope of 'herd immunity' will be vented. As a biologist I say that the concept of herd immunity already makes no sense, let alone now what sense it may make towards a virus that we do not know, new, that has only recently arrived in Europe. 

Last night, the infectious chief of the Sacco hospital in Milan called the policy adopted by the British Government "criminal".
