To be serious, for one second, I very much doubt Fripp is tone deaf. If you are tone deaf then you have no idea what melody or harmony are. Five notes harmonising in a chord would just sound like a meaningless noise to you. Thats my understanding of 'tone deaf' anyway.

I may take the p!ss out of Fripp, but I find it unlikely that someone who is tone deaf would devote their life to a career making progressive rock! How on Earth could he write songs if he is unable to tune his guitar, play chords and write melodies..

You're absolutely right. Q must have made a mistake here surely.

It was probably an underhand dig at a musician, who Q personally dont like.

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

There is one where he smiles! A small pic in the inner sleeve of "The onstrucKtion of Light" album.

< Here's a nice smile by Mr. Fripp. Such a clean-cut young chap.

Frippy's just misunderstood.

Exactly.  King Crimson was Fripp's band.  Therefore, he had the right to reject other people's musical ideas.

And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, I
don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime.
I never said I was frightened of dying.

Fripp said he didn't consider him the leader, but that the band was just "a way of doing things"

Fripp is a dick, as far as I know, and I don't know much about him

what was firing Sinfield all about, he was the best component of KC!

The legend goes that he received a guitar at the age of 11. at the
time he had no idea what to do of it (and probably didn't have many
clues about music in general). being left-handed and unmusical, he
found it perfectly logical to teach himself to play a right-handed
guitar

Apparently Fripp offered to leave Crimson in an attempt to keep Giles & McDonald in the band.

I'm not sure he has much time for Greg Lake and visa versa from the interviews I've read by both parties.
I must remind the right honourable gentleman that a monologue is not a decision.

Are there any good detailed bios about king crimson online that give you all the dirt on how/why people left the band and such, and why King Crimson stopped existing every once in awile.

"In The Court of King Crimson" by Sid Smith. I haven't yet read through it completely.

I never understood why that first lineup fell apart.  And why the Wetton lineup just stopped.  Same goes for the 80's lineup.

Was Fripp an ass? Every one of us has been at least considered an ass by other people.

Nevertheless, he is annoying with claiming he invented prog rock and that it should stop when he disbanded first KC.

yet you still have time!
