Hey! Thought this music might appeal to some of the people on this forum... Sheffield-based Post-Progressive Rock band inFictions release their ambitious and dynamic debut album 'Maps of Revenge and Forgiveness' on Monday Feb 20th 2012. The album will be available on iTunes and other digital retailers and also on limited edition CD available from www.in-fictions.co.uk 3 years in the making, the album has benefitted from collaborations with 5 studios, 8 drummers and a host of session musicians and arrangers. The album was completed on a microscopic budget for something of its scope and complexity. Videos... Watch a trailer for the album and 3 other music videos here - http://www.youtube.com/inFictions A Review... More reviews are due in soon, but for now, here's the thoughts of Love Music, Love Life - http://lovemusiclovelife.com/album-reviews/infictions-maps-of-revenge-and-forgiveness/ Find out More... http://www.facebook.com/inFictionsMusic THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME! Welcome.
You've released your debut work already, and I've moved this thread into "Suggest New Bands and Artists" section. Good luck! |

The album isn't officially released until 20th Feb - It's on Amazon to sample, but not available to actually buy as yet. http://www.amazon.com/Maps-of-Revenge-and-Forgiveness/dp/B006O37AO6. Bands like Radiohead and Muse immediately spring to mind - one of which is in Crossover, the other in Prog-Related...but there are post rock touches to this too. I guess we need to wait to hear the rest of the album (or at least most of it) in full before making a call on this one...

Thanks folks.
If anyone has any suggestions, based on what genre(s) you think inFictions fit, as to where we might send the album to try and get reviews or radio play....your input would be HUGELY appreciated. :-) I'm exploring the rest of the forums now...

Very nice material! Based on the two samples on your website, you seem like a fine candidate for crossover, very similar to the likes of Radiohead and dredg.

Thanks for this. Looks like a couple of people who have bought the album so far were directed to it from this forum so glad I stumbled across you.
Still keen to hear of any specialist internet radio shows or blogs that you guys might recommend and who might be interested to hear from us. Thanks for your help, Ed |

There are plenty of prog podcasts and radio shows that you could try:
The European Perspective: http://www.thedividingline.com/podcasts/european-perspective/ (you could contact David Elliott who does the show via facebook messages - either at the show itself: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/The-European-Perspective/129073031472, or his own page: http://www.facebook.com/#!/amazingwilf). Note: there are several other podcasts on this network (The Dividing Line Broadcast Network, which is exclusively dedicated to prog rock) - any or all of the presenters might be interested in playing your stuff. Here's a list of the shows: http://www.thedividingline.com/schedule.html - click on any one of them for full details. Dead Nobodies: http://www.deadnobodies.net/, or http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Dead-Nobodies/129496980456727 or the presenter, Bobb Hodds: http://www.facebook.com/#!/bob.hodds. Pollywogs Progcast: http://pollywogsprogcast.com/wordpress/ or http://www.facebook.com/#!/pollywogsprogcast (hosted by Paul Demers). Progzilla Podcast: http://www.progzilla.com/ or http://www.facebook.com/groups/119204198099 or the host Cliff Pearson: http://www.facebook.com/progzilla. Epic Prog With The Lurker: http://www.epicprog.net/ or http://www.facebook.com/groups/51866051540/ or the host Michael Citro: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1133749939. Prog Dog Radio Show: http://www.progworld.co.uk/Prog_Dog_UK.htm (Presented by Geoff Banks): http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Prog-Dog-Radio-Show/125254814216634 or http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=729461079. But I would start with Brian Dade, who broadcasts on aiiradio.net: http://aiiradio.net/, also http://www.facebook.com/AiiRadio.netFan or Brian's own page: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=724643757 "I've been with AiiRadio since late February, and I'm proud to be a part of this brilliant station. My main interest is in UK and European progressive rock, but I'm discovering that there's a very healthy S.American prog scene, and I'll be playing more in my shows. I enjoy nothing more than finding a band or an album that has never had airplay, and introducing them in my shows, and discovering that it strikes a chord with the listener." He often does shows that concentrate on one particular artist, and recently hosted the full world radio premiere of 'AIRS...A Rock Opera' by Steve Brockmann and George Andrade. (Feb 28th: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=724643757#!/notes/airs-a-rock-opera-written-by-steve-brockmann-george-andrade/world-premiere-and-signed-album-giveaway-of-airs-a-rock-opera-tonight-on-aiiradi/10150708228134744). That should do you for starters... Edited by yam yam - March 07 2012 at 11:17 |

Not a problem Ed. They're all sites I use regularly, and it didn't take long to throw the list together! Also don't forget the Internet Radio sites recommended by Progarchives from the 'Prog Radios' button at the top of the home page: http://www.progarchives.com/ProgRadio.asp. These are all damn fine stations, and I've no doubt that several would probably fit you into their rotation if you asked them nicely.
