Maybe but are the album reviews an appropriate place for that sort of humour?

probably not... but it was asking for it considering the previous "reviews"

See the review afterwards, another idiot who clearly doesn't understand satire.

Very nice cover. And VERY different from any previous DT artwork. I don't know why, I can feel more maturity in this artwork.

I know why. Two words: Hugh Syme.

CAN I JUST SAY...

...I havent studied all the posts in detail but there are alot of people saying they have this album who don't and alot of people saying that there isnt a leaked one yet...YOU ARE ALL WRONG...I downloaded this album this morning and it is the 100% correct Octavarium. check out www.torrentspy.com if you dont believe me. Also I know it is correct because The root of all evil contains follow on lines and riffs from this dying soul and the glass prison. These walls and Panic Attack are both in their full state on the album with over 3 mins extra audio than the 2 leaked radio edits. Hop along to the mxtabs musician forums a few people have started posting the real album on their, but ive been listenign to this album since this morning and it is awsome!

P.S. And no! it's not the James Labrie album...i have that aswell

Well, considering it was leaked in the middle of the night last night, I'd say that every previous post saying there is no leak was accurate.

I don't know everyone jumps on leaked albums so quickly. Just by the album when it comes out. I kind of think people who have already heard the album are ruining it for the rest.

I have to say that I feel the MAJORITY of people that download the album are just curious fans who want to hear the CD and cant wait, I suspect that they will render their illegal activity null by buying the CD on the 7th.

Well the album definitely HAS leaked. I already own it in it's entirety. And it's not Elements of Persuation. I own all the DT albums and know for sure that this is new stuff. Besided the song titles are mentioned in the lyrics.

I just got it, listening the album for the second time. Most songs are (very) different of what they did before and is, thus, definitely not a TOT II. I think it needs to grow on you. It sounds promising anyhow.

The fourth song (I Walk Beside You) even sounds like (a heavier version of) U2!

You mean that it's a total U2 ripoff... I couldn't stop laughing when I first heard that chorus. It's hilariously bad.

And Octavarium is quite a weird song. Some of you classic prog fan might like it more than DT's previous work. I personnally find it pretty disjointed and the lyrics are, once again, hilariously bad.

Oh and they really ripped muse off on two seperate songs. Never Enough = Stockholm Syndrome

Overall a pretty weak and bland album IMO.

I heard Stockholm Syndrome today, and doesnt seem like a ripoff to me, yeah, you can hear influences, but not a ripoff...

I walk beside you seems like a pretty good song to me, maybe some so so lyrics, but nothing like you say ...

Octavarium is one of the best songs ive ever heard, and it starts with a very powerfull lyrics:

"I never wanted to become someone like him...."

It makes you think that the song has a nice story coming.   Also, i cant completly judge the lyrics because i dont have them yet, the album hasnt been released, and you cant tell exactly what LaBrie is saying in some parts, so ill wait till the cd is released and then make my own judgement.

Dream Theater made me listen to Rush,Yes, ELP, Genesis.. That must count for something!

Have you heard the middle section? The lyrics are horrendous. And the "trapped inside this octavarium" part is atrocious...
