It's Rush without a doubt.
Their influence on the more heavier side of prog is massive, and their music is fantastic.
And Geddy Lee's voice sounds good in my ears!

Rush. Most of these other Art Rock bands wouldn't be around (at least not in the same form) without their influence.

Rush is good, but I like Steve Hackett better. Asia and Kansas are pretty awesome - hard to to nail it down to one best overall

Some weird stuff in there! Anekdoten? Steve Morse Band? Djam Karet? I must not understand the definition of this genre.

For God's Sake, Steve Hackett ART ROCK????????????????????
His works are much more complex than 90% of the most progressive bands, from Voyage of the Acolyte until To Watch the storm he has done more for Prog' Rock than most of Prog' musicians.
Kansas is a mixture of Symphonic Progressive wirh Hard Rock and a bit of USA Folk, has no relation with Art Rock either.
This term created to identify the simplest form ofr Progressive Rock is turning into a taylor's box, where people throw everything that aren't able to categorize, you can't compare Steve Hackett, Kansas or even Rush with Styx, Asia or Roxy Music.
