Topic: The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway Posted: September 27 2005 at 15:58 |
What's your favorite track on this double album?
I know it might be hard to choose only one song but give it your best shot. I
would have to go with Anyway. The middle section with the piano and the
heavy guitar is the most powerful part of the album in my opinion.
Incredible part.

One likes to believe
In the freedom of music
But glittering prizes
And endless Compromises
Shatter the illusion
Of integrity

Carpet Crawlers - the most beautiful Genesis song. I also like 32 doors and Lilywhite Lilith.

For me In the cage is the song that manages to create a perfect marriage between the music and the lyrics, how ominous and compelling!

In The Cage...especially the version on 3 Sides Live...it really helped to get me into earlier Genesis, when I was 16.

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Fly on the windshield. It's one of the few genesis songs on the album, the rest being Peter gabriel's solo. And I don't like Peter Gabriel solos'.

Carpet Crawlers, one of the ten best pop/rock songs ever for me, regardless of genre. Honourable mention to The Lamia, which also scores 10/10.

It was a tough choice but...In the Cage. Can't get enough of the beat changes and the orgasmally-charged fast-paced keyboard.

Counting Out Time.
Of course it was almost impossible to choose the one song from this wonderful album, and the hilarious mood of COT decided.
