Triceratopsoil, why do you hate freedom?

Because for too many people it means "the freedom to be a degenerate weirdo" or "the freedom to live off the hard work of others."

A high degree of freedom only works in a high trust society, which we haven't had here since, oh, somewhere around Diefenbaker.

And this somehow justifies putting censorship-happy doofuses like Franco and Pinochet in power?

Obviously this video upset him so much that he had to start a thread of outrage at a music site and continued to trump up the video to the point where its become part of a devious mass cultural conspiracy.

I'm sorry others don't share your views on Halloween and hand clapping, but you're not the authority, or are you?

No.

I'm obviously not as hypersensitive as those folks, because I don't have conniption fits at the sight of white people wearing sombreros at parties.

Ths isn't a music forum. This is general discussions forum, so the thread is perfectly valid. You were not obligated to contribute if you disaprove of thread so much.

I'm not opposed to them not liking Halloween. I don't really have an opinion on Halloween one way or another. I'm against them wanting to impose their position on others. Simples.

I also didn't say there was a conspiracy. The only thing I would concede is my use is my use of the word 'cult' which was probably not called for.

Was there anything else??

I didn't realize there were people wearing sombreros in the video, I think you are just making things up at this point.

No.

This is one of their key gripes about Halloween frat parties. White people wearing 'ethnic' wear. It may not have been evident from this specific video clip, but it is one of the reasons they want Halloween banned on campus.

Who, specifically, is this "they" you refer to, is that the alleged "cult". Do you have any actual proof of these broad allegations?

People of colour should stop appropriating white culture, and stop using computers, indoor plumbing, automobiles, airplanes, electricity etc.  At that point I will tailor my Hallowe'en costumes to meet their demands.

Does it sound ridiculous now?

Yes, your lack of historical knowledge is ridiculous. The birthplace of science and mathematics is Egypt, and you won't get too far without either of those two studies.

My lack of historical knowledge? You think Egypt was ruled by Africans?

Quote Scientists at Zurich-based DNA genealogy center, iGENEA, have reconstructed the DNA profile of King Tut, his father Akhenaten and grandfather Amenhotep III.

Researchers discovered that King Tut belonged to a genetic profile group known as haplogroup R1b1a2. More than 50 per cent of all men in Western Europe belong to this genetic group as do up to 70 per cent of British men. But among modern-day Egyptians, less than 1 per cent of residents belong to this haplogroup, according to scientists.

King Tut and Europeans share a common ancestor genetically who lived in the Caucasus region, the blue-eyed race spreading out with agricultural about 9,500 years ago.

Or is it that you think slaves who couldn't read or write invented mathematics?

Sorry Kolin, just look at a map. Egypt is in Africa, it is an African nation.
As far as what the people looked like way back then, I don't care, skin color and eye color are not important to me.

Skin color is obviously VERY IMPORTANT to you, so I will let all you, and others like you, who are afraid of people who look different from you, make up whatever you want.
Sounds like a great hobby, ... no?

Did I say that?  I only said that mathematics was invented by people of European origins.  Which is true.

Of course, your preference would be to put words in my mouth and then feel good about completely ignoring my (valid, true) point from your perceived moral high ground.  That's a large part of what this thread is about in the first place.

If I may chime in, the "they" is probably the people (generically speaking) who seem to want to get offended about everything even if sometimes is a rather unimportant thing as Halloween costumes. Look, I agree with protests about racism and police brutality and institutional racism and all, this is just not one of those situations.

This, on the other hand, is ridiculous and I would say, racist.

So the "they" could pertain to the op, who was greatly offended by a silly little video. So offended he had to start a thread about how outraged he is.
