No response whatsoever. I don't think we're likely to see him again.

Uh oh. Heh. Somebody added Porcupine Tree's The Incident a good three months before it comes available... No reviews just yet, but that's going to be a space to watch closely for a long while.

We're in for the same phenomenon that happened with Dream Theater's Pitch Black and Silver Spoon (or what was it called).

Is there any reason for admins not to delete albums posted before their first release date (usually European)?
You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

There is. It's called "the policy". Thanks to it, The Incident was posted as soon as the full details regarding it was known.

Unfortunately, the major backfire to the policy are the illegitimate pre-reviews.

Sorry I didn't know about this policy...what exactly is it. That anyone can post albums whenever?

They should design the reviewing system, so that it's locked until the release date. That cant be that hard to implement.

The reason that they don't is because there are users and collaborators who get legitimate pre-releases from bands or labels for reviewing the album prior to its release.  I'm quite certain that an admin will contact the review writer and if it is not a legitimate pre-release the review will be deleted.

I think there should be some sort of new policy on reviewing the  album that you add. I am guilty of adding albums and not reviewing them only because I helped set up a few entries and added them in order to get the ball rolling and even managed to review a few of them. Although I have most of Steve Smith`s albums they`re difficult to review and require more time. I noticed the new Guru Guru album is here but not reviewed. My guy in Montréal says it`s not available yet. I just added an a couple of rare Omega and Brainbox singles that I found in my collection and reviewed them at the same time. I dunno I think this makes a bit of sense.

This makes sense.

At the same time, I think that there ought to be some significant penalties (1 episode, suspension, 2 episodes ban) for early reviewing with presumption of guilt. Meaning that the only people allowed to early review are ones who have established that they get legit pre-releases.

I love this site, and everyone saying "no credibility" bothers me. If reviews of pirated music are the concern, let's deal with blatant abuse firmly.
