Plagiarism is to copy an existing review.

Using arguments that have previously been used doesn't mean a thing, except that maybe the arguments are true.

Not saying anything about the album, despite I'm very familiar with Octavarium (Everybody who was a member when released is familiar with it, being that we didn't had a chance than to listen it because of the bunch of reviews), but the guy is entitled to give his opinion if he supports it with ARGUMENTS.

(If plagiarism is to copy the entire review, then it goes for songs as well, ergo DT did no plagiarism.)

This is not his/her own opinion. He read something and agreed without trying to get his/her ideas into shape. These links with U2, Linkin Park etc. have been said against the album much more times than "over-pretentious" against Tales.

^I'll have to agree with Ivan here. He's just saying what he think, and if he thinks something that has already been 100 times, is that wrong? I mean, he's not copying a review, maybe similar context-wise, but that's the consequence of letting anyone to review(which I'm not saying is a bad thing)
This is the same topic as the one about the 1000th review of DSOTM or whatever...

Please Diaby, it's his opinion, accept it.

You believe it's a 5 stars album,....Did you copied that idea from somebody? I'm sure not.

Even if you don't agree, he's entitled to his opinion, I find the same links, but don't review the album because I don't like a single DT album and would be unfair to review a band for which I have so much dislike plus an album that before reviewing I believe deserves not more than one star, but the guy made a coherent review.

If you believe the album is not a plagiarism, then modify your review and explain the reasons why you believe it's an original work, but don't try to stop the right of a member, and a Prog Reviewer to express his opinions.

In my opinion, you can tell the motivations of a reviewer by simply looking at their review list.  This guy appears to have no manipulative tendencies, he just doesn't like that album.

Guys, remember this is the "reporting" thread......sounds like this should move to discussion thread.

I can see this reviewer's rather liberal use of the term "fag" unnecessary.  Correct me if I am wrong.

Yeah, second to last paragraph:

My final impressions: This album is instrumentally and conceptually a masterpiece. The story is original and fascinating. Like PF-The Wall, the ending is unclear and it lets you wonder what the possible outcomes could be. I like that. So why not 5 stars, you ask? Labrie. His singing is uneven and, well, annoying for the first couple of tracks. It then improves, or fades into the background, as the album progresses. I am undecided as to which....I have since explored some other DT releases. The older stuff is very good instrumentally, but I cannot get past the Fag-setto of Labrie. Sorry. I know I should not let this ruin it for me, but it does. He has obviously toned this down since the success of Scenes. I am really enjoying 6 degrees right now and I think he actually sounds pretty good! I will get ToT next. I hear it is heavier and that fits my Prog-metal-aggro personality more than Awake.

anyone seen the ratings on the new riverside album which is not out yet - and nor are the promos? Pretty good for an album no one has heard.

The new DT album and the new TMV album have the same problems.

Yes, many times. In DT's and Riverside's case I already addressed them in this thread at least 3 times. I have a post in page 85, I think, will all three, but so far nothing was done.

There is a DT version of this album in the net, probably as in the case of Octavarium is a scam, and we will be a joke again as in the Octavarium case, inn which we had almost 100 reviews of a LaBrie's album as if it was Octavarium.

Can't we learn from our mistakes?

Ivan, can you offer a technical solution available to our site's webmaster ?

I agree. But it's a lost cause. I quit whining a long time ago. The "publicity policy" will always make this problem a reality on this website.

better to ignore them I guess...

These two reviews are identical. This because mr. Fynes obviously switched his name from c_fynes into Conor Fynes and obviously (intentionally or not) doubled a few reviews. There are 10 more like this.
Can you check this out Bob  ?
