I am not one in the same and wont debate you in this forum however if you want to pm me anytime that's fine. The review was horrible and it is not there any longer as far as being a noob doesn't mean I have no knowledge of music |

That guy was faking being....I don't know what...if you can listen to SEBtP and get that Wimpey Dreams refers to burgers, well the rest of that stuff is a complete put-on. So yet again it's someone insulting the site in general.....I'm all for humor but it's all in the timing. Know your audience, man. I think pretty much everyone here takes the reviews seriously because the database is the treasure around which the site is based.
Anyway....at first I thought it was just a kid, but after reading that it's just someone wasting review space.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

can anybody answer me how a sold out album like LEAVING YOUR BODY MAP got so many recent 1 star reviews? How could so many people acquire an album that is not for sale anymore and give it 1 star?
link 4 the album: http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=8357
EDIT: I meant ratings, and the same thing kind of happens with UNQUESTIONABLE PRESENCE, except that UNQUESTIONABLE PRESENCE can be bought nowadays

Here's abuse, and more good arguments for weighting of Collabs......clear attempts to manipulate one band over others. Also note the "joined" and "last visit" dates.....likely the same person.
Should these accounts be nuked? http://www.progarchives.com/Collaborators.asp?id=22956 http://www.progarchives.com/Collaborators.asp?id=23877 http://www.progarchives.com/Collaborators.asp?id=23927 You can find examples of this stuff all over the place, unfortunately. what's up with infandous repeating all of his Flower Kings reviews today?
It's not an attempt to skew the ratings and his reviews are quite well-written. Edited by Zitro - May 12 2009 at 16:27 |

It drives me nuts when people practice machine-gun reviewing....saving up huge quantity of reviews and then laying down like 20 at once. Very inconsiderate to someone who has worked for hours to write a review in his/her free time, only to see it blown off the front page instantly by the machine gunners. I realize having a review on the front page is no big deal to some of us veterans, but to newer reviewers and particularly slow reviewers it might be a big deal to them. They post their hard work and it gets trampled by the machine gunners.
I requested some reasonable limitation on the number of reviews per hour but there was no interest apparently. |

^ I'd support a rule that restricts reviews per hour or something like it, though I'm not a machine-gunner and know not the erotic rush of saturating the front page..maybe it's addictive, but I'd still like to see a reasonable limit and I'd think it would benefit everyone

You could call me a machine gunner, but that wouldn't be all that fair, really. I only write reviews when I'm really in the mood, but then I stay in the mood. I sit down and for two or three hours churn out lengthy and thought out pieces (that being basically the only skill I have anywhere in the world at the moment--yay English major). I don't try to overtake the front page, just to tackle a band and wrap up their discography or something. There was a point where I had written six or seven reviews showcased on the newsletter. I do it only with the best of motives.
So it is entirely plausible that this person is simply a big fan of The Flower Kings who decided to sit down and really make a contribution? |

^ oh it's quite plausible, but if they had to space their posting a bit it would actually give all that hard work more coverage while preventing oversaturation

I'm just saying that, such as in my example, self-promotion is hardly even a passing thought. I only care to have my review on the album page and my rating adding its value to the mix. Front page shenanigans are only incidental. I'm surely not the only one here like that.

Not abuse but there are duplicate reviews by two different people for Between the Buried and Me's Colors.
c fynes and Conor Fynes Metal Style and Metalstyle I am unsure which ones should remain. |
