Do you think they'll sell well there, Steve? I know they did for the convention, but this is a whole 'nother animal.

Eric, I think they'll do fine. The Facebook page for Marillion in Montreal already has a good number of confirms. I'm torn between locally 1 night, or Chicago for 2 nights.  Drive 25 miles, or drive 850 miles ?   Granted, 600 would be getting to my in-laws in Windsor where we would stay for a week or so, and I'd sprint the final 250 down to Chicago by myself to enjoy a mini-Marillion Week-End with you fellows.

Been a fan since 'Script' with a break after Fish left, I thought the band had split until I was in HMV flicking through the CDs and saw 3 marillion albums I'd never heard of, bought them there and then and there has been no looking back.

Favourite album has to be Marbles closely followed by Script and Happines. Being a vinyl freak I really welcomed the releases on the old black plastic.

Steve, I really hope you make it down. I'll have my girls with me and I'd like for them to meet you and Denise. I think they'll just hang out at the hotel room or Laurie's sister may come down and hang out with them for the nights of the show.

Hope you consider coming down.

Thanks to my wife and sis' I received 6 (yes SIX) Marillion albums as birthday presents to offset the depression of yet another year in the memory bank LOL.

Seasons End, Holidays In Eden, Brave, Anoraknophobia, Somewhere Else and HITR (2 cd version) to be exact.  So plenty of listening ahead then Tongue.  I've listened to Seasons End once and Anoraknophobia twice so far.  Whilst SE was quite enjoyable I found Anoraknophobia superb right from the start and am surprised at it's relative low rating here.  The sleeve notes are hilarious too - true anoraks all of them Wink.

I have tickets for the Manchester Academy gig in December, so I'll need to fully acquaint myselves with all 6 of the above by then.  Anybody else seeing them on the tour?

Latest e-bulletin from the boys - enjoy you lucky North American's!!

4 November 2011 - North American tour 2012

TICKETS ON SALE NOW!

We are pleased to announce the dates for our North American Tour in 2012.
Head over to http://www.marillion.com/tour/index.htm to check them out!

MARILLION SET TO TOUR NORTH AMERICA FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 2004
The British are coming! Marillion have announced their long awaited return to North America, for a 13-date summer tour. Having maintained a continuous touring schedule through the rest of the world, as well as the high profile Marillion Convention Weekend events, this will be the band’s first visit to the US since 2004. The tour will hit several cities across North America, with 2-consecutive-night events planned in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. To mark the occasion of these special events, Marillion will be performing different set-lists over the consecutive shows in these cities. Fans travelling to these destinations will witness unique sets as the band set-up camp in select markets.

As legions of fans that regularly flock to see the band live or buy their records are all too aware, there really is no other band like Marillion. Hailed as Internet pioneers for their game-changing use of technology to unify and mobilize their global fan community, Marillion have been un-compromising with their music and vision. With their revolutionary presale campaigns, in-house label and their own Racket Records recording studio, Marillion have remained uniquely independent.

The overwhelming demand to bring Marillion back to the States once resulted in a fan-sponsored tour fund and a series of legendary dates for rabid fans in 1997. For their 2012 return to North America though, everyone’s invited to experience the unforgettable show that only Marillion can deliver. Currently in the studio, creating their 17th studio album, Marillion look forward to unveiling their latest collection in mid 2012 as they hit US shores.

Hey guys... did you hear the rumors at the HOLIDAYS in ZEILAND showcase at Wolverhampton last night about Edison's Children? http://www.edisonschildren.com

One of the band members said that ALL of Marillion is playing on the album at different points. Not just Ian Mosley on the new Pete Trewavas / Eric Blackwood project.

some news coming in an hour according to http://www.facebook.com/edisonschildren

Found this quote on the web...
"In The Last Waking Moments..." is the concept album of a person experiencing a surreal and bizarre happening, and is attempting to come to terms as to whether this experience was reality or a decent into madness...

Yes sir !  Chicago tickets ordered  !  Sadly, Denise won't be making the run down to Chicago with me, and she'll be staying in Windsor visiting her mom. It will be great to meet your family though Eric, and I look forward to the Marillion experience all over again.

Hi Roj !  I'll be seeing them in Chicago on the NA leg, and hope they'll be playing a load of new material by then too !  Glad you're enjoying current era Marillion ( since 1989 anyway ), and it was Marbles that really pulled me into their sphere. I did see them as an opening act back around 1986, and was never really a fan of the Fish led group, but with my re-discovery in 2004 I really fell in love with their style, and Hogarth is a superb front man. Took me a while to digest and sort out the back catalog in my brain, but every album has a lot to give, so enjoy the adventure and I'm certain the show will be spectacular.
Steve in Montreal.

Geez, how did this thread end up on the 3rd page.  Are the Marillionites running out of things to say?   Anyhow, I am giving This Strange Engine its first listen in quite awhile and I am really enjoying it.  Just starting Estonia which I remember to be a really good song.

Looking at their PA page I noticed that there is a Tales From The Engine Room cd which is some sort of a dance re-mix techno thing.  Has anybody heard this, and what are your thoughts?  I have the ELP one and it is quite atrocious.

I'll be seeing them on June 26th, I think it is, in Los Angeles.

It'll be the first time my girlfriend and I will see them. The only H-era album I have is "Brave" and I've only listened to it once. Embarrassed

So I'll have to stock up on H albums until then LOL
