I'm thinking Bill Bruford, Stanley Clark, Frank Zappa, Keith Emerson, Jean-luc Ponty, and maybe Ian Anderson, but I'm not a big fan of Jethro Tull...

Ok this would be a ridiculous jazz-fusion group.

Allan Holdsworth - Guitar

Pat Metheny - Guitar

Bill Bruford - Drums

Pekka Pohjola - Bass, piano

I still think It needs a good jazz keyboardist but I can't decide who.

Robert Fripp (King Crimson) Guitar; Steve Howe (Yes) Guitar; Carl Palmer (ELP) Drums; Jack Bruce (Cream) Bass; Rick Wakeman (Yes) Keyboards; Paul Rogers (Queen) Vocals

Fripp & Howe on guitars because they have enough sensitivity to complement each other, and still both have virtuoso skills; Palmer for his power and range; Bruce simply the best electric bass player ever; Wakeman over Emerson because with the other musicians there, no need for keyboards to carry the band, Rogers because the vocalist would need sheer blues power but also vocal command and dexterity to rule the roost in this band.

My dream band changes every time one of these threads pop up, but what the hey I'll give it a go.

Vocals: Mike Baker
Guitar: John Petrucci
Guitar: Jim Matheos
Bass: Geddy Lee
Keyboards: Michael Pinella
Drums: Thomas Lejon

Though to be honest there are so many fantastic vocalists I'd love to use, so if this had to be realistic, with Mike Baker being dead, then the vocalist could be anyone like John Arch, Ted Leonard, Tim Owens, Roy Khan, Will Shaw (guy on Youtube)... so many possibilities.

Win.

My dream prog supergroup exists, and it's called Transatlantic.  It will continue to exist if our good ol' righteous warrior Neal doesn't screw everything up again.
