The rest stays though!

Michael, I haven't seen that episode of The Simpsons but the picture says it all.  Smile
I have "Once There Was A Time..." on vinyl but not "I Wash My Soul..." because it's a little pricey on Discogs.
I'm going to shop around and see what I can find.

Yesterday:
Thinking Plague - In Extremis(I cannot stand the vocals, it's not my cup of tea :/)
Dün - Eros (Good, but not Outstanding like people like to place, the Alternative versions of the tracks are better than the original ones...)
Korekyojinn - Jackson(This one is PHENOMENAL, trully love the dynamics in this album)
Universal Totem Orchestra - Magus(Well, simply a masterpiece, each track is phenomenal)
Ooioo - Taiga(Adquiring the taste, but it's pretty good and fun already, very diverse)

I knew you would like it and I'm glad you do! Smile

Association P.C. - Sun Rotation Splendid experimental-jazz-fusion. This album is Herbie Hancock-ish on fusion passages (however without the funk elements), Anthony Braxton-ish on free-form sections, and Fasuty on experimental mayhem. And what a great mixture this is! Conny Plank was the engineer here and this album does have a strong spirit of early-70's Germany. Excellent!

Carl Didur - Nothing is the Secret to Anything Carl Didur's sensibility for mixing bright space-age-pop melodies with highly-rhythmic experimental electronic a la Kraftwerk of the first two albums brings very fresh and fascinating results. This is in a way similar to what he does with Zacht Automaat, yet it sounds like nothing else. Phenomenal sounding Farfisa with great electric piano and loads of oscillators and ring modulators.

Bo Hansson - Sagam om Ringen I had always appreciated Bo Hansson's original inventive approach and musicianship, but it was not until today that I discovered how fantastic this music is. Wonderful melodies meet not-your-usual rhythms. I like the fact that it's made of  smaller segments does not bother me at all, I am actually glad Bo Hansson did not try to unnaturally stick all the ideas together into a pathetic unconsistent suite.

Saint Vitus - Born Too Late
Slayer - South of Heaven
Godflesh - Pure (full CD version)
Om - God is Good

We Lost The Sea - Departure Songs - I saw this discussed in the other thread, so I put it on for background listening while I was studying. It's  good overall, at least above-average as far as post rock goes. Still, it's not terribly original, and doesn't do much to update the post-rock formula that's been in place at least as far back as Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven. That's a minimum of 16 years there. Imagine how far music progressed from 1960 to 1976, or from 1980 to 1996. Genres are starting to feel a bit complacent.

Departure Songs definitely sounds a lot like the other post-rock I've heard, but I found that the performances on this one resonated emotionally a whole lot more. I agree that growth within genres has kind of stagnated a lot lately. But I suppose that with all of the incredibly specific niche genres that we have today, any sort of deviation from subgenre norms just becomes a distinct subgenre.

Eternal Tapestry & Sun Araw - Night Gallery I like Sun Araw and his approach to experimentation and so I thought this collaboration might be something I would find interesting. I did. This is different, however, than most of his stuff. In short, this is Ash Ra Tempel-esque guitar-fronted jam-based psychedelic space rock. Nothing spectacular, but I would still recommend this album.

Weather Report - Weather Report Love this album so much. I never investigated Weather Report enough and I feel I really need to catch up. This is excellent stuff. This album keeps perfect balance between every element I like about early jazz-fusion. Loads of experimentation with beautiful sonic landscapes and terrific group work overall.

Terry Riley & Don Cherry - Köln - February 23, 1975 Very pleasant music. You can really feel the chemistry between these two musicians. Terry Riley's layers of lush keyboard clouds with Don Cherry's sublime, delicate improvisation on top make for a beautiful effect. The recording quality could be a bit better, but this is an excellent listen nonetheless. Recommended!

Great choices Tymon! Love me some Sun Rotation. It is so peculiar to witness the shift in style that happens from track one to two. Madness! You wouldn't think it was the same band.

Yesterday:
Bando do Casaco - Hoje Há Conquilhas...
Bushman's Revenge - Jazz fritt etter Hukommelsen
Didier Bocquet - Voyage Cérébral
Dungen - Häxan
Floating Points - Kuiper (wtf?!?!?!!! Judging by this release then Floating Points needs to be on PA. PE probably. Didn't see or hear that coming)
Klaus Johann Grobe - Spagat der Liebe (one of my absolute faves from this year. An entire album done in the spirit of the classic krautpop track 'Wunderbar'.)
Our Solar System - In Time (the best psych release of 2016 (together with Goat's Requiem)? Certainly up there)
Syd Arthur - Apricity (as per usual with Syd Arthur releases I instantly get hooked and very quickly develop a thing for humming melodies in the most odd of places. Last time I was planted on the toilet at work not realising Apricity's title track had been zooming out the whole time. 5 kids sat outside to greet me with claps, handshakes and a somewhat dubious looking record deal.)
Three Trapped Tigers - Silent Earthling
Værket - Jealousy Hits (New Danish prog band. Sorta like King Crimson teaming up with Jethro Tull. If you like the sound of that, you're most likely going to love the album.)
“The Guide says there is an art to flying or rather a knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.”

- Douglas Adams

Indeed! And yet, it does not create an impression of being inconsistent even the slightest bit.

Faust - Faust IV What a great album. Faust is slowly growing to be one of my top German groups. This album is just beautiful. Very dynamic, very tasteful everywhere the music goes. Excellent stuff.

The Awakening - Hear, Sense and Feel A bit less funky and energetic than their other album, Mirage, but still great. Remarkable sax and electric piano work!

Red Noise - Sarcelles-Locheres I don't like this very much. It is stylistically something I like, but, as for now, the music seems a bit too "direct." Zappa-ish humor is nice, but Red Noise seem to exaggerate a bit too much. In its best moments it's great, though.

Technical Space Composer's Crew - Canaxis This is that "lost" solo Holger Czukay album. Interesting stuff. It's hard to say how much of it was actually pre-recorded or how much was manipulated. It's dark and rather mysterious. Recommended!

Not quite prog, but great music nonetheless:

Radiohead -- In Rainbows

I was skiing today and there's nothing better than Reckoner to go with an adrenaline rush.
