The first time I heard Marillion was in Titus Oaks Records on Long Island. The clerk was playing the newly released Fugazi. My first thought was that it was a new Peter Gabriel record and that he had gone back to a more Genesis-type sound. Anybody else have that experience?      

The first time I heard Marillion was on the radio in Indianapolis- He knows You Know.  I was already a HUGE Genesis fan so it was right up my alley.  I immediately started buying all the EP's and singles and Picture discs I could get my hands on.   I saw them in Chicago warm up for Rush and play 1/2 of Misplaced Childhood.

A few of us will be up there. Myself, Steve (Progfan58) and Kenmar will be there as well. Steve and I were at the last one and it was the best live music experience of my life. I really hope this one will match the last one.

giving my first listen to anoraknophobia at the moment. I chose to get it over This Strange Engine, and so far i'm not regretting that it's got some poor reviews but this is really unusual energetic stuff.

This Strange Engine, on the other hand, is about four and a half to five. The title track itself is amongst the finest tracks they ever recorded.

I was wondering if people were going to meet somewhere before the show! so I guess that gives me an answer!

I'm not sure , but we'll have to be home at least one point during the day to feed the dog and let her out, unless we can get a sitter. ( Perhaps we can bring her to the show...dress her up like a kid and get her a wristband - ha ha )  I would like to see the Q&A as well.  Has the Fan Club offered any other events like the Sugar Shack you went to last time ? Optionally, if you and Kenmar want to check out any other places in the town I could act as chauffeur .

It's nice to see this thread active again, and really nice to see the interaction between all of you going to the Weekend in Montreal

We took a decision last year to have our first family holiday in eight years in France, thus taking away the financial opportunity for me to go to the Weekend in Holland. A shame, but the family has to come first.

I really wish I was going to be with you guys at one of the Weekends, but I will be there in spirit if not physically.

So, from Mr Laz in Wales, to all of you going, have a fantastic time, and send us all a detailed report afterwards, if nothing else so I can stew at home in a fit of absolute jealousy

And, you never know. One of these years we could all have a massive worldwide Round Table get together at one of the events.
