Do we, usually? Although they're certainly nowhere near as acclaimed as the 1973-1979 period, I do see a lot of praise for these albums, especially from the more 'avantgarde-minded' people.

I think that more than most groups, they were in danger of either disappearing from the public eye as "has-beens" or splitting up due to a lack of artistic direction.

that's a bold assumption that I can't really agree with in any way. not losing his mind doesn't mean he wouldn't have been on LSD and making amazing psychedelic music. From everything I read it seems that it was the post-Piper fame and the pressure and expectations put on him as the 'frontman' and main songwriter that drove him over the edge and into solitary life

doing LSD =/= going insane.

Look at Daevid Allen man. That man was on insane amounts of LSD during the main Gong days. He's 74 right now and a happy old man.

I guess I'm a bit biased though because I really love LSD.

I like YES and GENESIS but all their albums added together wouldnt replace KC's discography for me... So its an easy choice

King Crimson are objectively the greatest band ever, but Yes is by far my favourite. Yes is probably my favourite band :)
