Here's an interesting point.

Two members living in the USA have received their DVD's. I live in the same country as the band, but because we have had no post for four days now (health & safety concerns for postmen owing to inclement weather), I haven't had mine yet.

God bless the United KingdomConfused

Mine arrived in Canada late last week, so I guess Blighty is last on their list ! ( chuckle ) Give your Posties a break, it can get nasty out there in the snow. I'm sure they are better deliverymen than Canada Post...I got a warning from them last year because we have more than three steps without a hand-rail (we have five in total-rising about 30 inches ) leading up to our front mailbox . I had to re-install the box at the bottom of our stairs. No problem now, but he still can't figure out how to flip the new mail flag up !
I'm sure yours will come any day now Laz !
Enjoy

It arrived todayBig smile. Bliss watching it whilst ironing this afternoon.

This Strange Engine is quite incredible on it, and is the very reason why I love this band. I can't think of many other bands who would perform such an incredibly difficult piece so well live, and with such emotion as well.

I have a yearly tradition of putting Christmas In The Chapel on the player around this time, but haven't had a chance. I do have the CD version in the car, but just not the same.

Incredible version of "This Strange Engine", though. Fast becoming my all time favorite Marillion song.

I know that we are almost in February, but, anyway, I wish you all a Happy New Year!

It was almost four months since I listened to anything from Marillion and then yesterday I have caught myself listening to Misplaced Childhood and after that to Anoraknophobia.

One of the reasons I really love Marillion is Rothery's guitar and also Steve H's voice, however, yesterday I was paying a lot of attention to Pete's bass and he is awesome!!! He gives a really nice touch to the music and makes it really interesting.

So my question is what do you think are the best performances of Pete on Marillion?

This Strange Engine, for me, but a highlight amongst many.

Well, Happy New Year to you as well Marlon !     I'll go for the obvious and choose "Interior Lulu" as one of Pete's stand-out performances. Seeing him go through it live was a real highlight, and in many ways he makes the song. I doubt that they'll repeat it at the upcoming convention, but I can always hope...

I've played in a Fish-era coverband.

It's taken a while, but the last year I have finally begun to grasp the greatness of the H-era material. Now I absolutely LOVE Brave, Marbles and Less is More!
Check out my band Grand Elk! New EP out.

Well, welcome aboard! Hope to see you many times around here, and the old quote applies here, I think. God is always VERY pleased when a sinner repents and sees the error of his waysLOL

Hi all!
Great band everyone's discussing here.
Has anyone ever heard "Size Matters", or "Tumbling Down the Years"?
Two great live albums I found on the Itunes store.

Both have been pushed quite heavily on the band's website. I haven't got either - if I bought every live release by the band, I wouldn't be able to afford any other musicWinkLOL

I'm only familiar with the Fish-era recordings. Fugazi has always been my favorite. I saw them at the Ritz in NYC when they toured for Fugazi. There was only about 25 people there! Great show!

it's great that a band exists that fully acknowledges it's fans importance and contribution and appreciates them for it.
May more bands take a lesson from Marillion and Steve Hogarth

anyway i thought i'd bring this thread briefly back to life

You are, of course, absolutely spot on. I know of no other band who respect the fans as much.
