Atheist's Mother Man was a fun one. At least when I could see past the blocks covering my screen.

I've recently beaten Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2, and both games were awesome.  I'm currently playing Chrono Trigger on emulator, and I'm close to where I was before my computer crashed in January of last year.

Unfortunately the Xbox 360 is too slow for this kind of game. You'll need at least a quad core PC, 2-4 GB ram and a next generation graphics card ... remember that it will probably be released next year. Maybe they'll port it to the next version of the Xbox though, it's bound to be multi-core.

Actually I just checked the developers' blog and it is coming out on the 360 and PS3 as well.

^ yes, but the versions will be a bit different, they mention that in the movies. I honestly doubt that it would work on the Xbox, but ... let's see.Smile

Have PS3 versions begun surpassing Xbox360 versions yet?  I seem to recall a lot of inferior versions on the PS3, and the Lost Planet port is, from all accounts, nearly unplayable due to the framerate...

Tetragrammaton was probably the best one I did. It was truly epic.
I also recommend any of the faster Battles songs.

From what I know the problem with the PS3 is that is very complex to program for, so not many game developers can actually exploit it's potential power, Sega found out to their cost with the Saturn and Dreamcast that consoles which are difficult to program for will not be successful. Unless games developers can get their head around the PS3 quickly it will be an utter failure with only titles made by Sony themselves actually using the hardware well. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing Sony fail for once.

Burnout Paradise performs better on PS3 than on 360.  Seems to me that games developed on the PS3 first perform better than if 360 development first.

The PS3 isn't going the same way as the Dreamcast. First of all, the PS3 is showing similar success/downfalls as the PS2 in its early years(hard to program, lackluster games). Second, there has not been any third Japanese titles for the Playstation. Metal Gear, Final Fantasy XIII, Grand Turismo and Little Big Planet are huge games that will undoubtedly sell the system. Also, Uncharted, Burnout are seeing pretty good sales and the PS3 outsold 360 in January.  I would think that Nintendo would have trouble because they're the ones whose only good games are first party.

What Sony did wrong was to be pretentious pricks. Think Kuteragi and his "4D" speech.Dead
They also lost a bunch of games that were supposed to exclusive. Not to mention the price of the system and that whole issue with not including rumble on their controllers. Although that was because they were in litigation with Immersion, the makers of rumble. Sony still has a lot of issues to get over, but I don't see them giving up so soon. They may end up second place in this "console war" but it is going to be a close second.

Yes it's unlikely that the PS3 will go the way of the Dreamcast I just pointed out what can happen to a console if it is complex to program for. I'll be honest and say that I can't see the Japanese developers keeping games like Metal Gear and Final Fantasy PS3 exclusive as they would be losing a massive slice of the market. Of course since I don't have any intentions of buying any of the current generation of console none of this really matters to me.

Personally I think that Nintendo have won this round of the console wars but they're going to need to attract more than just casual gamers and their die hard fans with their next console if they are to stay successful.

If the Wii continues tracking as it is, it should soon hit the same stride the Nintendo DS did and become the platform of choice for games in every genre, from casual to experimental to extremely hardcore.

I've got a DS and a PSP, and I pretty much only use the PSP to play PS1 games and the odd PSP game that interests me...  while on the DS, I've got a ridiculous backlog of must-play games I just don't have time to finish.  Of course, if you limited the library to its first two years, it would look a lot like the Wii does now.

Let's just hope it happens as it should.  The DS and its amazing library should be proof that the Wii has the greatest potential for the best games this generation, as long as you're not one of those people whose enjoyment of a game is entirely proportional to its graphics.  Dead

Unfortunately the good graphics = good game attitude is very common how else would the Halo series survive? Wink

Personally I'm not a fan of the DS as I don't really like the dependence on the touch screen but I've never really been into portable games that much beyond playing solitaire and minesweeper on my PDA.

There are quite a few games on the DS where you barely use the touch screen, like Final Fantasy III and Rune Factory.

But games like The Phantom Hourglass utilize it fully,it takes some getting used to.

Hmm...the PS3 is a good machine, and it will take time to crack. That's why 2007 sucked for it. 2008 will be better, if only for Metal Gear 4. However, how good will sales be if so few people bought a PS3?

I think the Wii and 360 are doing well, but I can't help but think the Wii controller and whole situation will lose appeal after awhile.

My latest purchase helped me revive all the Sega classics, from when I was a little kid!:

It really has a lot of games, and almost all the real good ones for Sega Genesis are there. Highly recommended! And of course it has the complete Sonic collection!
