agreed. Lucky you with the concert experience and t-shirt! Wish I could have seen them at least once.... I worship them! more stuff: Drottnar: Technical black metal! and I mean technical! sort of like Extol's "Synergy" album http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=5252 Another band that should definitely be considered for the list on this site! and this obscure covers download (completely legal) with tribute to Emperor, Ved Buens Ende and Arcturus) http://panacea.msk.su/ocns/main.html |

Others that may have gone unnoticed:
Egoist; excellent stuff in the shifting, proggy Meshuggah vein (although more interesting than Meshuggah to these ears) http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=85552 12-tone doom-death metal: Ehnahre: http://www.myspace.com/ehnahremetal their latest album, "the man closing up" is phenomenal! I wrote with Stanislaw from Egoist not so long ago to get his permission to download and review the unreleased Dead Egg album. I´ve written a review a couple of weeks ago. A really nice and talented guy Stanislaw.

It´s a pretty good album but not perfect IMO. You´ll have to ask Stanislaw himself were to get it. I don´t have it anymore. He seemed happy about my interest in his music so he will probably be happy to hear from you too.
Here´s my review if you´re interested: http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=227879

New Cloudkicker albums out for '09.... sort of like a more ambient Meshuggah-inspired band... |

I'll add all your recommendations to the PMT chart later today, and I thank you very much for making them.
Please remember that the PMT has a ton of suggested bands and a lot to vote on and clear. It takes awhile, but I promise you your suggestions don't fall on deaf ears.Plus out of a 6 man team only like 3 people do any actual work so that makes it tougher.

@ Jody:
I think with the new Gwenybleidd album a reconsideration might be in place, but we'll know more when it's out. Also, to add to my other post form above, what do you think of these guys
As well as these guys: Apokatastasia?Their album Shedding, how is it? EDIT - got to listen the Shedding - it's very good!! Edited by avestin - August 19 2009 at 20:57 |
