Uh huh Absolutely agree on Alpha Centauri, probably among my 25 or so favorite albums, and Comas Sola being the best TD track, probably followed by Birth of Liquid Plejades for me. I love TD's electronic albums as much as anybody, but their first two are likely my favorite krautrock albums and certainly the best from TD.

Mike Westbrook - Metropolis One of my favorite albums right now. This is so original and unique. Duke Ellington-like big-band playing avant-fusion suite in nine parts, that spreads through the whole album. And the progressive spirit is there! Magnificent work.
Cervello - Melos My #1 Rock Progressivo Italiano record. There is just something about these melodies and harmonies that makes this such a distinctive beast. Instrumentation and arrangements are also extremely unorthodox. Terrific album. Love Live Life + One - Love Will Make A Better You I haven't heard a lot of Japanese psychedelia yet, but I am aware that it was a big movement, significant for the youth of the time. This album is a mix of rough garage/psychedelic rock, collective free improvisation, and some classical music. Pretty nice! Art Zoyd - Haxan This is very difficult music indeed. I like the idea of this half-an-hour electronic overture and how the rest of the album goes with its mix of chamber rock, industrial, and experimental electronic. I cannot fully enjoy this yet (it does take time, doesn't it?), but I can definitely appreciate the effort and musicianship. Edited by ALotOfBottle - November 14 2016 at 13:07 |

John Coltrane - A love supreme (Because it popped up in my mind)
Talk Talk - Laughing Stock (To explore the origins of Post-rock) Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Tarkus (To discover the band) The Neal Morse Band - The similitude of a dream (Because Mike Portnoy said that he likes this album more than Metropolis Pt.2 (I think) on his Twitter) |

Klaus Schulze - Irrlicht (Great debut, such a spine chilling atmosphere. I loved the idea of the orchestra behind the minimalistic electronic sounds. I noticed the first two albums were released in quadraphonic sound, it would be awesome if they could be released on BD or DVD.) Sanhedrin - Ever After Brand X - Unorthodox Behaviour Némo - Coma (It keeps getting better ) Gentle Giant - The Power and the Glory (I seriously need to get more albums in surround sound )

Mahavishnu Orchestra - Inner Mountain Flame Which reminds me why I have never been a giant fan of Mahavishnu, why I never went beyond just liking them. Their music is great, totally up my alley, but there is something really exhausting about it. I really need to be in a special mood to enjoy Mahavishnu fully. But I do really like this album.

Van Halen - 1984 - Classic Van Halen, plain and simple. The only thing I'm not fond of is the keyboard-based tracks (Jump, I'll Wait) but all of the actual hard rock tracks are among their finest. House of Pain is my personal favourite EVH solo.
Grateful Dead - Sunshine Daydream 8/27/72 - Best show ever, maaaaan! All killer, no filler, the whole band was giving it their all for this one. The Promised Land opener kicks butt, and this show must have one of (if not the) best renditions of China Cat -> Rider they ever laid down. The psychedelic cuts are also breathtaking; Playing In The Band is phenomenal and this may just be one of the deepest, jazziest, most exploratory Dark Stars in their entire catalogue. I absolutely recommend this show to any fans of early rock n roll, blues, folk, roots, psychedelic or just live music in general. A true piece of Americana!
