Progressive rock: a man's genre?

Actually, no, as usual, you are jumping several cues to pursue your agenda.  All I said is biologically, women tend to have a naturally higher pitch than men and as a singer, I believe higher pitch is better for soft singing than low pitch. It just is, that's all, I cannot prove this empirically but I have seen this hold good across too many samples to believe otherwise. Of course, who does it better individually would also depend on the skill of the singer but biological differences do kick in here.  I did not by the way use words like cuddly or sappy if you chose to read carefully at all - I used attributes like reticence, ambivalence, melodious, attributes which I think are very valuable in singing. So this only goes further to prove my theory, ironically, that it is men who relentlessly stereotype the music that women make in a negative and denigrating light and refuse to believe that there can be another way and that such other way can be equally valid and, from an artistic perspective, equally compelling.   In particular, rock fans are notorious for bashing anything soft or lush as sappy, cuddly nonsense even if there may be compelling emotional intent residing within said soft music. Sorry, I don't think equality for or emancipation of women amounts to tom-tomming or shouting from the rooftops that they are like men in every possible way. Rather, it is to recognize and respect differences with maturity and give them space to do their own thing.

They can't understand the superiority of progressive rock. They can't drum. And, now, biological hypothesis, handled by semi-savant monkeys launched on internet, fed from Wikipedia, without anyone to punch them in the face while they obviously need it. I have enough of this zoo. This hell. I can't stay on this forum without having bursts of irritation: I stopped lurking on the Christian/Agnostic threads, the Libertarian thread - and even most of the musical threads. But it's not enough. I have to get the hell out of here. Women don't care about your f**king progressive rock music, because men don't care about it. No one cares about it. No one cares about YOU.
