a good and most certainly intended one is on "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway": "Caryl Chessman sniffs the air and leads the parade. he knows, in a scent, you can bottle all you made". "in a scent" sounds like "innocent". Caryl Chessman was convicted of being the "Red-light bandit" in 1948 and finally executed in 1960, although there were serious doubts about his guilt. he died in the gas chamber ("in a scent"). read about the Caryl Chessman case at these sources: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caryl_Chessman http://www.prisonsucks.com/carylchessman/ http://cwis.usc.edu/isd/archives/la/scandals/chessman.html

My sister was playing System of a Down and a song came on that says 'Spirit goes through all things' and my mum thought it was saying 'spherical droppings' because it rushes the middle words

Who has misheard all of these lyrics? The brain damaged? "Africa, comfortably numb"???? That doesn't even make sense. I gotta call bulls**t on that one.

No no, I did when I was in my teenage years. I always have had
difficulty hearing lyrics properly. I guess I just hadn't
listened close enough.
All of mine are genuine misheard lyrics I have heard, not just off a website.

I was always amused by This Mortal Coil's version of Tim Buckley's "Song to the Siren". Obviously unable to decipher his lyrics, they sang "were you hare when I was fox?" as "where you here when I was fossil?".

The Box Tops - The Letter
'Give me a chicken or an aeroplane' - actual lyric 'Give me a ticket for an aeroplane'
Phil Collins - I Missed Again
'Am I pissed again? Looks like I'm pissed again, uh huuuh' - actual lyric 'Did I miss again?'. In the UK 'pissed' describes being in a state of profound alcoholic relaxation, btw.

Yes - Sound Chaser
Actual line is: "And what touches our souls". But with Jon Anderson's Lancashire accent it sounds like: "And what touches arseholes"

"our souls" is always a very dangerous phrase to use in a song.

There are 2 that really stick in my head from when I was a kid.
In Quiet Riot's Cum on Feel the Noize, me and my friends sat around the speakers for hours debating whether they said "Girls rock your boys" or "Girls F*&K your boys". We never did figure it out for sure.
And this one is all me: for the longest time, I heard "no dogs or cats are in the classroom". I thought it was terrible that Pink Floyd wouldn't let kids bring their pets to school!
Also, at the end of Queen's One Vision, I still swear that Freddie Mercury sings "Gimme gimme gimme...Fried Chicken"
Love this thread!
