The Jays aren't that far behind.  At least they got a championship last time they were in the playoffs. LOL

Not happy about them coasting into the playoffs. The Cards got the better of them tonight.

Well they're in an offensive slump.  Better to get that out of the way now than in a few weeks.  Plus they're playing their bench quite a bit.

Where did the Dodgers find their bats yesterday. They couldn't buy and out if they tried. 15-1 It was an ugly game for the Buccos.

To go from a 15-1 loss to a 1-0 loss on a broken bat home run. This team just can't get a break.

Uh, I get the whole nothing to play for vibe, but c'mon now.  Let's build a little momentum heading into the playoffs.

I think they'll come up for the Braves series to end the season. I'm not really worried. I would coast if I were them honestly.

Let's go Rays. Screw the Sox.

I can understand somewhat, they're understandably tired, and some guys need rest (they basically played their entire bench in the 1st game yesterday).  But to me playoffs are all about who's hot, and I just don't want to limp in and end up losing to Arizona because we're not sharp.  Hopefully for the Mets and Braves series they start trying to get into form.

Good thing the Tigers don't have to play the Royals in the playoffs. LOL

I guess the Tigers don't have much to play for right now either, except seeding if they care who they play in the first round.

They claim to be playing for home-field advantage.  Catching the Yankees is unlikely, but they are currently tied with the Rangers.  It would be nice to at least have home-field advantage for the first round.  From a selfish standpoint, games 1 and 2 are on Friday and Saturday and games 3 and 4 are on Monday and Tuesday.  I really don't want to have to take 2 days off of work to go to the games if I can avoid it.  If Monday/Tuesday end up being night games then I guess it won't be that big of a deal, but in 2006 the Tigers' games were the afternoon games.

I think I read something one time that said that there's no difference in playoff winning percent between "hot" and "cold" teams. But I agree that the prospect of going in cold does scare me. Again though, I think they turn it on for the Braves series, especially since the starters will be playing. For now I'm just glad that the starters are getting some rest.

Oh that reminds me, GIVE HUNTER PENCE A GODDAM DAY OFF WHY DOES HE NEED TO PLAY EVERYDAY

The Tigers are giving Miguel Cabrera the day off tonight.  That has almost never happened since he became a Tiger, although there were a couple of games in 2009 where maybe they should have given him the day off as he was too drunk or hungover to help the team after staying out all night partying with the White Sox.  Or at least that is how the story goes.

The Cards are sneaking back into it. The Braves are faltering as well as the Giants.

Cards scare me a little bit. Phillies match up so well against the Braves.
