And some more straight forward (although that's pushing it) metallic: Wolves in the Throne Room; Intronaut; Gojira; Agalloch; late-period Enslaved.

And when it all gets too much Popul Vuh will bring you back from the dark side to a sylvan glade....

75% of those bands have been discussed here, and if you would have been here two weeks ago, Wolves in the throne room was the talk of the town.

LOL, because thats as not true as you can get.

Barney 63 is right though, Isis are the kings of post metal, it seems no matter how far away another group is, I always find myself coming back to Isis.

Isis are kings? Not for me though Pelican owns!!! [\m/]

BTW, Isis to play in Moscow this Spring. I won't go...because A Silver Mt Zion and Tra-la-la ex-GodSpeed You Black George Bush Who Started The War In Iraq Which Ruined The Band As Efrim Said (Ridiculous Excuse Indeed) with Choir And Hanged-Up Drummer are going to visit Moscow this Summer...and I need to stop spending my money beginning from this minute

Finally, I reviewed Blessed are the bonds, and I feel I justified my thoughts perfectly.

I added their debut album and a sample from it not too long ago.I was surprised that it wasn't included in their discography here already.

Been listening to Red Sparowes at home.  Their first album At The Soundless Dawn is truly awe-inspiring epic instrumental post-rock-metal...............as most fans wld know it features members of Isis and Neurosis so great combi!!!

I agree it is. You should definitely try At the Soundless Dawn, well deserving of its praise.

Red Sparowes were one of the first "Post Rock" bands i heard. Considering the mix of Isis & Neurosis, the goodness shouldn't be a suprise. Anyways, if you happen to not like which ever album from them you check out, please don't disregard the band. RS have the whole "Panopticon" vs "ITAoT" situation going on with their two albums imo.

So, i gotta thank Assaf for introducing me to Grails. I've been listening to  "Black Tar Prophecies..."  alot lately.

Indeed it is LOL I love those guys; the albums are very good (maybe not the most original, but still so well done and captivating).

I strongly disagree, but don't have time to develop my arguments right now, only quick replies (gotta get working).

Gothic, industrial, shoegaze (?? eh, don't know about that...) reads the definition. Oh well, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to post rock so don't really know how accurate that description is. All I know is that it sounds pretty darn good and having downloaded the debut album that came out last month from this blog

http://last-train-tocool.blogspot.com/

I am prepared to order the actual record (a double album at that) as well.

There is a richness in this music that resonates with me, in a Cult Of Luna-sort of way, but added with a sprinkle of Radiohead and even Mew.

They have been added to RateYourMusic, too. Check them out if interested!
so you're a comatorian as well?Shocked

"I recommend Ephel Duath. Great band. Absolutely unlistenable - it's a really absolutely stunning mixture of Jazz and Death/Prog Metal. I can't stand the noise"
- quote from a guy on Last.fm

just thought i share it here, made me laugh.
