From Elias: Tigers CF Austin Jackson threw out a runner at the plate as part of a game-ending fly ball double play to preserve a one-run win against the Indians. The last time an outfielder threw a runner out at the plate as part of a game-ending fly ball double play that preserved a one-run win was on May 24, 2008 when Astros leftfielder Darin Erstad threw Pedro Feliz out at the plate after a flyout from Shane Victorino. The last time a CENTERFIELDER threw a runner out at the plate as part of a game-ending fly ball double play that preserved a one-run win was September 27, 1988. Pirates CF Andy Van Slyke threw Jose Oquendo of the Cardinals out at the plate after catching a fly ball hit by Luis Alicea.

Well, it's nice and sunny right now, so maybe we'll win today.

A split tonight...I guess it's better than to be swept by them.

Matt Holliday had to leave the Cards game in the 8th due to a moth flying into and getting stuck in his ear.

True.

"We're not hitting and not pitching," (Mets) manager Terry Collins said. "That's a bad combination."

The Buccos shut out the Brewcrew,. Too little too late.

The Dodgers beat up on the Cardinals again today. The Cards are making the Dodgers look like the 27' Yankees.

Last two night have sucked. The Buccos pitching is allowing a late inning HR.

The BrewCrew is the first club with a magic number this season. 18 games till they clinch.

Word on the street is AJ Burnett is still terrible.

At best he keeps you in the game (for 5 innings before losing it all) at worst he can't make it out of the second and gives up 7 runs. Latter happens way too often. I'd like to see him on a team with no offense he'd have like 20 losses lol

Recently said in an interview when he "gets aggressive" he pitches best and said in a recent game he pitched real hard in the third inning, which turned out to be his best of the game with 1-2-3 inning.
Sooooo he knows what he needs to do and can do it but...just doesn't?

And the Yanks have babied this guy beyond belief.
Guess taking that 32 year old, .500 pitcher with one really good season and giving him $82 million was a bad gamble after all LOL

The Buccos get a lead and can't hold it to the Stros. This season ended with that bad call in Atlanta.

Great game last night in Detroit. 2 to 1 win with a walk-off home run in the 10th inning by utility infielder Ramon Santiago.  Fister had a perfect game through the first 6 innings and the Tigers only had 2 hits during that same span of time.  Pretty funny considering the records of both pitchers.  5-14 vs 6-13 (or close to that anyways).  Both could sue their teams for lack of run support.

Fun fact:  Roy Halladay has more RBIs in the past two games than the Reds.

Tigers score 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th to beat the Royals 5 to 4. Clap  And bonus, the Twins scored 6 runs in the 1st inning and held on to beat the White Sox 7 to 6.
