Idle Hands— Dont waste your time.
Peter Cetera— Solitude. ( guilty pop pleasure. Ah the 80’s. Incredibly recorded. )
YES— Fragile ( Squire’s Bass. Heavenly. )

Shocked Cetera???? I forgive you buddy LOL

Still trying to forgive my self.
He really does sound like he’s giving it his all vocal wise and I admire that. His bass playing with Chicago is incredible though. I just had to hear if he could do more than “ the glory of love.”

If Peter Cetera ever comes out with an anthology or box set, I hope he names it “Et Cetera”.

Ah yes Steve!!! Excellent wordplay.

Now we have to focus on a BOXSET cover. I think Peter Wearing A cape and on the back it says ETC.

Just a couple of albums on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Deep Purple— Whoosh! ( really growing on me. Some incredible music on here. Certainly better than OZZY’s comeback effort. A lot better. )

Fish— Vigil in a wilderness of Mirrors. ( some beautiful tracks on here and could go toe to toe with Seasons End anyday. )
Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣

i think he should be holding up a sign saying, “I’m sorry”. In sly reference to the old Chicago hit. Plus an acknowledgment and admission of all the pain and suffering he’s caused.

Pete Cetera is a great bassist - one listen to Chicago VII shoes how accomplished a bass player he is. Chicago 16 is a kick-ass 80’s classic.

Hawkwind - Astounding Sounds Amazing Music

Someone mentioned this in another thread not too long ago but I was planning on playing it very soon anyway. While I don't think it's quite a classic by them it's certainly not bad either.

Rush- Test for Echo

Ultimately a bit underrated. I didn't like it that much at first but it has grown on me over time.

My rather disjointed listening reflects the needs to both energize and relax in this time of buying and selling property whilst seeing some major crops being harvested and overseeing miles of hedge-cutting!

Julian Bream- Lute Music of John Dowland
Julian Bream- Classical guitar and Lute recital
Eat Light, Become light- Modular living (crazy trance electro kraut-Motorik style..)
Steve Hillage- Live Herald
Oblong- the Sea at Night (a mate of mine's outfit- bit like 80's Tangerine dream)
Anekdoten- Official bootleg live in Japan (finally got round to listening to record 2 & 3 of the box set-    Fantastic stuff!)
Nodens Ictus- Live at Kozfest 2018- Just cant stop listening to this!!

Just one whole album today gentleman.

Faith No More— Angel Dust. ( I got the ultimate release of this album. It is a 2008 Remaster from mobile Fidelity. This was an absolute pleasure to listen to. The fidelity is insanely good and midlife Crisis is a wicked tune. 10/10.

Digging through some of the outer regions of my record collection to re-visit a few of the less frequently played platters (to see if I need to sell them on or not..)

Darxtar- Sju ; a kind of Swedish Hawkwind (Doremi to Warrior period) meets Pulsar with hints of Nektar and early Floyd. Forgotten i'd got this.. really rather good! think i'll hang on to it for now..
Dragon S/T ; I really had forgotten i'd got this!! Its still sealed! 1976 Belgium (I think) band.. this re-issue was on the 'Golden Pavilions' label and was supposed to be on Red vinyl (only 100 pressed) but no, its black vinyl.. anyway these 'unopened' gems do keep cropping up in my collection (embarrassingly..) On first play its got lots of different sounds and feels- very European prog with lots of keyboards and particularly organ and String (cheese) synthesizer then a bit of Vocoder (ala Peter Frampton) then a very 'West Coast' almost Grateful dead sounding bit. Musically very interesting but the vocals are pretty poor.. Also reminds me a bit of Pulsar and Atoll.. Will play again before I decide if its in the keep or sell pile!

Some obscures.

The Box— All the time, All the time, All the time...

Faith No More— Angel Dust (MFSL edition ) - it is such a weird album but I’ve grown to love it.

Continuing going through my stacks and boxes..
Finisterre- Finisterre S/T.. Cant quite remember where I picked up this double vinyl on Mellow records.. Hadnt played it for quite some time. There are some beautiful moments with great flute (reminds me of Solaris) but the drums sound awful and it lacks something overall that just finds me drifting out and not paying attention. The 2 extra tracks on the vinyl edition are covers of 'Harlequin' by Genesis and 'Refugees' by VDGG and are both very lackluster.. oh well, I think this one will go in the 'sale' pile..
Fish- Suits and Vigil in a wilderness of Mirrors.. Hmm, I really like Fish.. ive seen him live a number of times, really enjoyed his shows and just warm to him as an individual. He writes from the heart and has real character as a singer; somewhere between Roger Chapman, Alex Harvey and Roger Daltry. I dug these out after reading an article about him which brought these albums to mind. Both stand up really well though I prefer 'Suits' which has considerably less of the 'Pomp' of Marillion left to blow out of his system which is evident on 'Vigil'. His lyrics are straight to the point, often very poignant and as relevant today as when he committed them to vinyl. I hope to see him again when he eventually gets to tour his new album and will be keeping both of these (but I will have to sell the Pic Disc 'Vigil'!!!)
