AAHHHHhhhhhhh now those are 2 truly great drummers. Damn, I'm pretty ashamed I forgot those guys. Especially Travis, while it may not be blistering I can't think of anyone else who can play double bass for such long periods, at a pretty good clip of course. |

Gotta go with Carey . . . he has such an original sound.
Kudos on Martinez and Adler. And I'm probably going to get lambasted for this, but no Joey Jordinson? He isn't as good as some on that list (okay, most on that list) but he is good . . . good enough to be in the list, imho. Another drummer I'm really into right now is Tim Yeung of Divine Heresy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSDOP6OqPnA P.S.: How do I actually insert a Youtube vid into my posts? Well, since I don't cinsider Tool to be Metal in the sligtest, I would have gone with Haake, but since Danny Carey IS listed here, I had to choose him. Sorry, Tom; maybe next time,

Chris Adler is actually my fav. at the moment. And Joey???? Well it's OK. Actually he IS good, I just don't think he's anything spectacular. It's also hard to be unbiased because every drummer vid on youtube has at least one comment from someone, (with slipknot in their name) saying "X" sucks Joey f*cking beats everyone! But I can admit he's pretty decent |

Let me put it this way. Joey is decent. Some of his drumming in Slipknot does impress me. And he's better than Lars 1000X But he's not really great. Especially in concert, every youtube video I see of his "solos" sound like crap. No offense to any Joey fans, but he plays really fast double bass. Outside that it just sounds like randomness, but not good. |

Fixed
Kudos for Martin Lopez though, definately in my top 10, especially for Ghost Reveries, alot of people know Opeth but for some reason only recognise Akerfeldt... pity

Sean Reinert and Derek Roddy are great drummers but I'm gonna have to go with Dave Witte on this. Human Remains, Discordance Axis, Municipal Waste, East West Blast Test. Saw him play with Melt Banana about five years ago. The guy is spectacular.

I'm not sure if I can vote in this poll just yet, seeing as how I don't really have a favorite drummer as much as I just find some drummers incredibly f**king talented and just enjoy them. With guitarists I can have a favorite because they provide the main melody to the songs, but of course drumming is an essential part to any metal band. Anyway, I digress.
George Kollias is an insane drummer. Just from listening to Papyrus you can tell how brutal his drumming is. I mean, damn. As far as Necrophagist goes they have just as much brutal drumming, but the problem is is that there have been so many drummers in that band I couldn't tell you who's good and who's bad. So I just enjoy. Wintersun has a quite amazing drummer, as well.
