Love it, but think it's overrated in their discography.

Get Piper at the Gates of Dawn or Atom Heart Mother instead, true masterpieces.

The wall was my first rock album so I love it very much. Anyway it's a great album with deep lyrics inside and I consider it to be the best concept written by Waters.
La Speranza della coscienza è forza
La Speranza del sentimento è schiavitù
La Speranza del corpo è malattia

Even if I think The Wall has for the most part already heard before, I can't get by without loving it  since its beautiful sounds and some magic it creates with ear's listener I can't explain

I have had mixed feelings about it. I like it, but it's too dark and depressing for my taste if you are in a good mood. However, it can be good (not always) if you listen to it while you're down. My views of the album completely changed when I saw the movie. Now, everytime I listen to it, I get these disturbing images from the movie and apply it to the album. Key songs, IMO, are Good bye Blue Sky, Young Lust,Mother, ABINTW pt.2, Comfortably Numb, and Run like Hell. Overall, I think that eariler Floyd is much better. But nontheless, this is a good album.

True.  It does have Waters whine for about an hour and half... but it is some of the best written lyrics ever.  And that is all there is to it.

Mate you should have had a love/hate choice, because thats what I have with the wall (Iv said I love it), I love it beacuse of the rare gems that are pure genius like Comfortably numb, another brick in the wall parts I II III and goodbye blue sky (musically not lyrically in the way of blue sky) yet I hate it because the album on a whole is abit average with only a few gems not like everything up to it in which the albums were a gem in themselves, plus its just Rodger Waters haveing a winge and a moan about his childhood which he continues into the final cut (theres the album for you lot who thought that the wall is/was too short).

Im not denying its importance in the history of music, of prog or of Floyd (in that it got them a new, younger fan base). Its just its very much a love/hate album in my view , so in that case its very much like marmite lol. The Wall is a marmite album! LOL

I think this is where Roger Waters became too overpowering and, in his own mind, tried to dictate what Pink Floyd was supposed to be all about.  It was obviously no longer a "group effort".  THE WALL along with THE FINAL CUT are almost completely written by Waters and the downfall of the band.

Sorry,  I just never cared for this era of Pink Floyd.  Up until this, it was all good.......
