Yes I know, thanks for reminding me.
I've not heard the album actually, but there are some samples around. Memoriance on the other hand are great! Edited by Geck0 - December 01 2006 at 02:01 |

I can help with the additions, of course... I've got their first four albums on CD, and at least one of the compilations.

Memoriance: Criminally overlooked French band that released 2 albums (one being a concept album). Thanks to one of my mentors here in PA (DallasBryan) I have the album Et Apres, which is a very good example of their skill. This album, as well as being rooted in the symphonic prog genre, also shows their harder, heavier prog side and the final result is a splendid show of capabilities. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! So let's sum up the events: Memoriance added in Symphonic (thanks to the team for accepting my proposal) - http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_BAND.asp?band_id=2733 The Gift added in Symphonic as well (Thanks to Erik and Gck0 for the speedy process): http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_BAND.asp?band_id=2734 Edited by avestin - December 01 2006 at 07:55 |

Just a note: anyone interesting in purchasing Memoriance's albums can get them from Greg Walker at Syn-phonic.
I also agree Assaf about their debut Et Apres. It's very much an underrated album and deserves to be heard. It is routed in symphonic prog, but offers so much more. I may well have to order their second album sometime. |

I made up a list a couple months ago or so of possible bands I'd like to see added to this website. However, I just looked and I can't find the list. I'll post it if I ever do find it though. At the moment the only band from it that comes to mind is the Doors. I really feel they should be on here. I'd say they would fit in under either prog related or proto prog. If Led Zeppelin can be on here I think it's only right that the Doors be included too.

I will be absent most of the time during the next 2 weeks, but I will try to keep this thread updated.
Two additions: The first is Pyramid which I suggested to Philippe who added them under Kraut. http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_BAND.asp?band_id=2737 Bio: Gorgeous German acid rock project. The obscure and underrated “Dawn Defender” is constantly mysterious, abstract and experimental, delivering interlocking electronic soundscapes punctuated by electric guitar manipulations and echoing effects. The album was originally released Tony Robinson for Pyramid label. A serious “kosmische” krautrock manifestation, a perfect & strange dreamy-like musical journey throw ultra psych textures. Pretty closed to the Cosmic Jokers (first) and A.R & the machines. The second addition is currently in the wrong genre. Our team (Zeuhl/Avant/RIO - ZART) has considered them and concluded they are more in the krautrock/psych spirit, and even electronic prog. They will be moved soon. It is the French group called Flamen Dialis. Very spacey, electronic, psychedelic album they have in Symptome Dei. http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_BAND.asp?band_id=2736 Formed by keyboardist/drummer Didier Le Gallic, Flamen Dialis explores structured, abstract electronic patterns combined with "collage" sounds, acoustic elements (cello, flute…) and a theatrical sense of composition. There's a constant use of diverse vintage synth equipments. Published in 1978, "Symptone-Dei" is a reference in avant rock improvisations with electronic sounds. This band is sometimes compared to a "cosmic" version of Magma with lot of Mellotrons. Edited by avestin - December 02 2006 at 12:45 |

This evening I am listening to the Convention Prog Resiste 2005 DVD featuring the Belgian band Madelgaire (along bands like La Maschera Di Cera and Riverside). They have made a demo CD, any fellow collaborator has heard this one? |

I added the French band Pataphonie to RIO/Avant prog.
http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_BAND.asp?band_id=2738 Their 1978 release Le Matin Blanc is a gem for those of you looking for chamber rock, fusion and an experimental band looking to create new sounds. |

This post belongs in Suggest New Bands/Artists,there is actually an existing Doors thread there. This is not a thread to suggest who you would like to see included in the archives. |
