To be honest, the avalanche of votes ceased when another member who shouts fraud and corruption left.

As if anybody gained money with this polls and reviews.

Hey, when did I told you I don't own This Was, Stand Up and Benefit??????

I own the three, even made a review about Benefit (Something I never do without owning an album) and wrote several posts about This Was and Stand Up, as I told you I have every official album released by Jethro Tull (Every LP and every CD in the form of single or double album).

What I don't own are one or two Box sets (Two are enough for me 20 and 25 Aniv) and EP's, which I usually don't care about.

Well, Good night, it may be 12:00 am in Australia but is 2:00 am here.

It's funny how progger always has something crazy to say. Whether
it's "Genesis are just Yes wannabees with masks", "Fripp plays out of tune" or
"this site is a conspiracy for genesis fans."
One likes to believe
In the freedom of music
But glittering prizes
And endless Compromises
Shatter the illusion
Of integrity

Genesis 1970-1980 is the best decade ever put in by a prog band

Tull are excellent but in the end Ian Anderson is beaten by numbers

How wonderful to be so profound

Seriously you have missed the point ... Statisticaly  when looking at the votes per band Tull is looking like they are  leading .. Yet the top 100 CD`s doesn`t suggest this to be the case  ... This poll shows us how flawed the top 100 really is (thats partly why I ran this poll to investigate the situation because I strongly despute the data thats being told to us)

Interesting pole. Jethro Tull are a hard band to judge because they released so many songs scattered all over the place. Genesis was always my favorite band back in the 70s and Jethro were maybe in my top 3 or 4 bands behind YES and Floyd.

But things have changed since I have updated my vinyl albums to cd over the last 2 years. I am discovering an enormous amount of Jethro songs from the recent remasters that I had never heard before and I'm loving them hugely. I had the first 15 vinyl albums of both bands and now I have them all on cd thanks to the christmas just gone.

I haven't got any jethro or genesis album after 1984. Genesis have remained number one, but Jethro have lifted 2 notches to be my second favorite band. I never had LITP from 1972 until yesterday and by golly I see what I was missing, plus all the other remasters. I feel that I have discovered 3 classic albums from the past.

I'll vote genesis for now, but my vote may change when I finish off the collections of both bands soon.

You are a lucky boy. You have to discovered yet all the great Tull bootlegs with the unreleased live instrumental tracks. Enjoy it!

  1. This polls are flawed, yesterday night when Progger logged in, the votes of Jethro Tull jumped from 29 to 41 in 20 minutes THIS IS STATISTICALLY IMPOSSIBLE.
  2. Thi is MORE  impossible (If this term is valid) at 1 am central time, because most Europe and American (North and South) members are already in bed, leaving only members from Asstralia, Asia and Africa, which don't represent a big percentagre of the members.
  3. You and everybody know it's easy to log out, then in, and vote as many times as you want.
  4. The Adm's check the IP number of all reviews, so it's double checked, something they don't do with this insignificant and useless polls.
  5. It's easier to manipulate a short sample as the one in this polls than the one of the Top 100 because it includes several hundreed of votes.

But if you want to believe we all are corrupt (As Progger repeteadly said) then why are you all loosing their time in a corrupt forum?

BTW: Nothing is being sold to us, everything is provided for free by the owners, and I believe we should thank M@x and Prog Lucky for that.

It's easy to talk when you don't help the forum to work, some of us do it for hours each day (Adding reviews and biographies, others administrating and moderating) and only for love to the genre.

Ok, you have earned a golden star as in Kindergarten.

Anyways, I've heard more than once, not only from this thread, that certain Tull outtakes are better than acertain album tracks. This may be true, and I may end up wanting to get them, but I still do not think they will sway me enough to change the firm position I hold now.

Another couple of things:

  1. Anyone who bothers to fix a useless or simply amuzing poll needs to grow up.
  2. The reviews system is flawed. But by simply requiring that reviewers write a review and not just rate and album, we'll get much more accurate overall album ratings. For evidence of this, look only at the ratings for Pendragon's Believe. 3 0 stars, 1 4star, and the rest (10+) 5 stars. It's simply inaccurate.

The bonus tracks swayed me so much it's not funny. I once had the original albums of Aqualung, Warchild and Broadsword on cd. I thought Aqualung was good and the other 2 only half decent. I didn't think alot of the band then. But over time I realised there was 8 aqualung, 9 warchild and 16 broadsword bonus tracks. These are like 3 albums and Warchild is easily beaten by the bonus tracks. The bonus stuff is heavy and exciting stuff. They are very similar to Aqualung. The broadsword bonus tracks also contain some great stuff, same with aqualung. The band became twice as good just from the 3 years alone. But there are tones of other excellent extras on many albums, which really make any tull fan stronger. There are 3 or 4 bonus tracls on each of the fisrt 3 albums and the best couple of songs from each of those 3 albums are  the bonus tracks. How can you leave off classic like teacher, witches promise, living in the past, sweet dream, love story, xmas song and more. Crazy ;). Same with Stormwatch, Horses, SFTW, Minstrel, Too old. How can you leave off songs like strip cartoon, beltane, king henrys madrigal, crossword, kelpie, blues instrumental, a stitch in time and more. These songs are great. I can make Catfish sound better than roots by adding bonus tracks and deleting some other tracks. There are more too
