Another Portishead track, maybe?
As for me, you can delete one of the song titles by Kikuo. The English one is quite sufficient imo.

I would not add the Japanese title to the poll. And yes, I actually would love to add another Portishead track from Third, which has been my favourite off the album.
I love the Krautrock qualities, but I won't. I tend to get very, very into particular albums and bands at a given time, and it has been most about Swans (The Glowing Man especially) and Portishead of late. Portishead asked Swans to open up a music festival, I found out not long ago. I tried to look that up on goggle now and instead saw news stories about swans that were found beheaded in a Portishead park. :( These polls do help me to diversify my musical diet, which can become too singular at any given time. |

Greg, I think you're missing the idea of your own poll. We all have our favourites, but.

I'm flexible even with my own ideas. But nah, I haven't forgotten what this poll is about and the voyage of discovery and re-discovery that it's meant to motivate. It started with the idea of regrets, and now I regret my last post so all is good. ;) . I have seriously considered Portishead for one of my polls and mentioned a track before methinks (Sour Times) by the way. Might have nominated another. I think those two I nominated work well for certain criteria. This is a very open world poll. Don't take my last post too seriously though, kind of poking fun at myself (the Canadian way).
EDIT: On second thought... I will go back to my Ennio Morricone - L'arena plus the Portishead - The Rip nomination. Those both work well for me. Again with the Morricone: I had been anxiously waiting to prepare the Interactive Poll Ate: Movie Soundtracks poll for a long time and had always planned to nominate Ennio Morricone. He has been huge in my life and I have more Ennio albums than by anyone else. Sadly, he passed away not long before I was to do the poll and that topic was to be my little homage to him. I opted not to nominate a Morricone track (partially because the second suggestion from someone was Morricone, and I wanted to do something different than have two Morricone's in a row), and instead I went with a pretty track from The Wicker Man -- pretty unremarkable I think most thought (I love Willow's Song and Christopher Lee loved that soundtrack). I could have gone with dozens of Morricone tracks, but I chose one which I find quite triumphant. It was later used in Kill Bill in a powerful-to-me scene later when the Bride rises from the grave. I did very much regret my decision not to nominate a Morricone (any Morricone). RIP, maestro. From RIP to the Rip... Here's a Portishead of the "I wish I had though of that but I didn't know it yet" variety. Had the poll been done more recently, this likely would have been my nomination for the Interactive poll No. -46 2/3 - the folk music poll. I had gone with Mark Fry's "The Witch", which I do love. The Portishead piece would be one that I wished I could have also included now (had I known it). This is also one that I considered for the How are you today? poll as it captured a mood I was in (I went with M. Gira's "Blind"). The choices are made, no regrets going forward.

At least one more vote would be great given the special circumstances. That might also increase the chance of voting for both of your submissions, now that you have two different artists 'in the race'. The name of my first chosen artist is Barney Wilen, with an N at the end. Thanks for correcting my English. I made a spelling mistake in the song title of the other artist. And many thanks for the playlist of course! |

Thank you, Greg! Here's a nice track for you. It's from one of my favourite soundtracks, written by great Luis Bacalov.

@greg, the version of the CCCP track in the playlist is not showing up for me. The one Lorenzo has a couple of pages back does play. Can you see if it could be swapped in the playlist?

Amos Goldberg (professor of Genocide Studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem): Yes, it's genocide. It's so difficult and painful to admit it, but we can no longer avoid this conclusion.
