Playing tribute to some legends that have passed on recently.
Little Richard— Here’s Richard! (Amazing album. Gold standard of a great 50/60’s recordings. ) The Cars— Heartbeat City (MFSL) ( this album is flat out awesome. The synths are mega suave. Love this album. Why did I wait so long to buy this one on SACD no less? ) |

Maybe a bit more famous than Dashiell Hedayat and you might already know them, if you're looking for more of the same Here & Now are a must. They are the guys who play on the Floating Anarchy album, try their Give & Take album and you won't regret.

Syd Barrett | Barrett — Love this album. It’s the dark winter of Syd’s mind.
Paul McCartney | Memory Almost Full — first listen and hey! Very good for a late McCartney album. No gimmicks, just Paul doing his thing. Impressed. Japan | Gentlemen Take Polaroids - just really good synth-based art-rock. David Sylvian is a great singer too. of Montreal | The Gay Parade — Athens-based psych-pop weirdo. This guy is part of that same Elephant thingamabob that Olivia Trmor Control and Neutral Pork Hostel are caught up in. A kaleidoscopic psych-pop manifesto. Screaming Trees | Dust — just an incredible album. Track 2 was a big hit in the 90s but every track on this kills. Didn’t even know I was a fan. But I play this every couple of years and DAMN Oysterhead | The Grand Pecking Order — Trey, Clay, and Stew. Eclecic? You bet. Enjoyable? In spots. Gumball | Revolution on Ice - Don Fleming, an uncompromising alt-rock icon leading a fairly accessible early 90s manor label band that rocks pretty heartily. Such a release could have only happened in the early 90s. The Cramps | Songs the Lord Taught Us — rockabilly trash rock that gets by on attitude. And it’s fun. Kinda sh*tty otherwise. Dinosaur Jr. | You’re Living All Over Me — now we’re talkin’. This 1987 album created the whole melodic 90s sound. Edited by HolyMoly - May 18 2020 at 21:09 |

This one I may get made fun of for. Gentlemen, I give you what I think is my ultimate, all time guilty pleasure album...
Prince—1999. ( say what you will, but the song arrangements are incredible on this album. Has some progressive dance electronic musings to. I give this album a 10 for creativity. Pretty crazy this came out in 1982 and I think it will surprise a lot of listeners. I recently bought the remastered boxset and it is really amazing. Great content and Bernie Grundman did a fantastic job remastering the album. ) You guys can make fun of me now. Lol. |

Viva Boma is a killer album ![]() I totally forgot that you indeed have seen the Ozrics live, lucky b*****d! ![]() I listened to Elder here the other day..Floating World I believe..was a really good spin, although I still have a few reservations concerning the production choices. There are some rather nifty and quite beautiful guitar solos that are way too low in the mix to really be appreciated for what they are...and I’m not all that fond of the somewhat anodyne drum sound..too clean for the music imho. Yet I still really dug the album ![]() Pretty interested in hearing the new Omen after your description...but then again when have I ever not been excited about adding electronics/synths to bands I already like? Exactly ![]() I’ve been spinning Die Wilde Jagd pretty much incessantly ever since I got my hands on the debut, which I think you’d dig big time....and with the release of the new Haut which basically consists of four 10 min. pieces that both give nods to the old a la Cluster, Neu!, LA Düsseldorf, Kraftwerk and Harmonia..but also manages to sound rather original and contemporary. I’m not at all surprised they were picked up by Bureau B, which also specialises in re-releasing old school Krautrock and Berliner Schule ![]() One of these days I’ll get them on board the PA vessel that’s for sure. I think they’d fit in nicely in electronic ![]() |

Sweet ![]() I’m always on about this album over the forum so it warms my heart to see that someone picked up on the rec. It is a wonderful album, and no sadly it has not been re-released to my knowledge...which is both criminal and somewhat odd imo. I mean, there are quite a few of these specialised labels that go out of their way to find some of the most obscure prog/psych known to man...and when you then think about the players involved it makes even less sense ![]() Oh well we can always hope. I vividly remember feeling the exact same about another French band called Plat Du Jour who made one selftitled album back in 1977, a masterpiece no less..yet lo and behold if it didn’t get a re-release after a couple of very very positive reviews over PA ![]() |

After a bit more research I found out that it was re-released 1n 1977 on the same label and catalogue numbers and the few copies I found on Discogs were these and were either ropey condition or massively over priced! But then I found its been re-issued by Replica records which specialize in French Prog and Avant garde re-issues and on their site it says its in stock for 20 Euros + P&P so I shall certainly be ordering that!!!

Cheers Sagi, I really am a dimwit with even basic computer technology, particularly since the kids all left home! ![]() There were some great times and some great bands, H&N, Ozrics included and lots that didn't get to record any material but it was pretty rough and grimy at times.. i'm a country boy and didn't last long in the squat/ travelling fraternity and got out whilst the going was good.. a few friends weren't so lucky ![]() Listening to Floating Anarchy now & lovin' it! I managed to get a new copy of the Dashiell Hedayat lp on the French 'Replica' label who specialize in French Prog and Avant Garde re-issues so really chuffed!
