Listening to Pax Cecilia right now, I guess I underate them, Blessed are the bonds is a solid four star, and the tragedy is possibly my favirote song of '07.

I think they're really good. They are instrumental post metal,a little faster and more agressive than Pelican. They remind me of Trephine and Lorus.

Trephine was really impressive, you have some extremely talented friends. Though a little too Don Cabby for me, I'll muster a couple more listens and mybe a review.

Excellent band. Suspended Animation Dreams .

Even I like them. Possibly the only band who does death vocals right.

Sweek
Johnnytwentythree
The Evpatoria Report
The Pirate Ship Quintet
The Ascent Of Everest
Sickoakes

SmileThey aren't really clones, but they do have that certain "epic" sound.

im REALLY liking The Pax Cecilia, almost right from the get go which worries me because i really dont want it to get old or loose any luster. But so far its very very good after about 3 or 4 listens. i like the tragedy too, but another big favorite of mine is the spastic yet calculated Machine. great song.

I heard SubMasq being mentioned here, so I thought I'd post this.

Post number 19, near the bottom.

Assuming that's really our good ol' chum Tomer, I'd have to say I'm uber excited.  Especially considering the post date, I'm all giddly.  Really, I'm blushing.

I'm disappointed - neither of these players are avant-garde!

Al di Meola.

So am I. Hearing that musicians are enjoying In Rainbows always cheers me up. Wink
But seriously, those "world influences" sound intriguing.

At last, a sign of life, yipee!!!!

Here's the post for all of you:

"happy new year for everybody here :-)
im happy to see you guys pulsing some life in this forum, its nice to see all the support.
actually, some songs are already recorded without vocals while some other are waiting to me to finish demoing, i do some of the recording in my studio thus i allow myself to take the time and rearrange things conveniently to make a hell of an album! for now i can revel that the third piece in "x" trilogy will be entitled "IN PASTILLE COLORS", ive been traveling the world quite a bit the past few years so you could expect to hear some of these influences along with the regular submasq twist.

honestly i do take the time and hoping to make an album i will be happy with for years to come, in the meantime i promise to let you guys hear some new stuff soon, there is one song from the "suspended" session that was never released (our heavier one yet i think) so i might release this along with some new tracks, will see!
anyway, happy new year for you all and thanks again for the massive support, you make this project so great
tomer
"

Thanks Drakk for the link!

He touched lightly on them in No Place Like home, which was easily my favorite song on the album, so needless to say, I'm incredibly excited about this release here.  World music really doesn't get much attention in modern music, and especially not in metal.  Good for him.

Cool

Nevermind forget what I said about Ulver, I just listened to the first song on the second disc, and it was one of the most intense, and insane songs I've ever heard.

Since I like sharing with people when I discover a cool new band, I must say that Cul de Sac is a great post-rock band.
