BM vocals don't bother me very much, at least not as much as death metal growls did at first.

They do sound epic indeed. 

Joel, have you ever listened to Ulver's first album? You might like it, there's lots of acoustic stuff in it and beautiful vocals.

And I can understand that Ulver's Bergtatt reminds you a bit of Morningrise, though in the end both are very different.
