I'm the wrong person to ask about which Can albums are good...I love all three I have. Speaking of Tago Mago, now I'm listening to this:

What's your take on Joe Henderson, Pablo? I have a seven disc box set of his late 60s/early 70s stuff that I've never actually played (hey, I got it for nine dollars!). I'd like to get an idea of what I would face going into that particular realm.

That's my first listen, so I really can't tell you concisely. The 'In N Out' album is great post-bop jazz with McCoy Tyner playing amazingly, if you got that album play it.
Of course, I've never seen you play much of Coltrane and the like, so not sure how much it would appeal to you.

I'm more of a 70s fusion kind of guy, and I like sax cats that go wild (Gato Barbieri, Mel Collins). If there's noisy shrieking, chances are I'll enjoy it.

Well, Henderson on those two albums that I have doesn't really shriek, but plays majestically. If you want noisy shriek you should try out some free jazz: Ornette Coleman, late Coltrane, Pharaoh Sanders and the like.
