Providence is great... it's a shame that it is so underrated. Indeed, very few people can enjoy it, but it simply doesn't make it any worse than it is.Moonchild is not a bad thing too, but maybe a bit long.
Couln't disagree more about Moonchild. It is the most important segment of the album imho, how the instrumental part pave the way for the grandiose finale is simply mindblowing.

Speaking of Bowie (someone was anyway) I hate his version of Let's Spend The Night Together. The rest of Aladdin Sane is great though.

If I had to choose one track to listen to from Red, that would be Providence. It's not the best track off the album but it's certainly the one I enjoy the most, every second is a bliss!
My stinker is Part Of The Union from Bursting At The Seams by Strawbs, I always skip that one.
I'm surprised no one mentioned More Fool Me...yet. I like it though.

for me its actually a fun little track that acts as a good lead into KE9 although it does seem out of place admittedly amongst the dark edginess of most of the album.
The other dodgy track is Still You Turn Me On mainly for the lyrics. The album would also have been much better without that and instead include the promotional track 'Brain Salad Surgery' .Every ELP album had to have the obligatory Greg Lake ballad it seems , mostly welcome.

Epping Forest is a novelty track but put together the length (10 minutes) and the fact its Genesis then you are supposed to think its genius . Its isn't. Horrid lazy peice of album filler imo.
I also don't want to hear I Know What I Like for the upteenth billionth time (it seems like anyway) . Don't mind More Fool Me so much although its a bit out of place. Rest of the album is genius though.

Maybe one of the more famous examples (though I personally like it) is "Mother" by the Police, from one of the biggest selling albums of the 80s, Synchronicity. You've got a nice, albeit diverse, pop album and all of a sudden Andy Summers (who's not a singer) sings this discordant, strident paranoid freakout song. I like it just because it's so over the top unpleasant sounding in the context of the album, that I just love the thought of teenyboppers hearing it for the first time.
Imagine this song on the same album with "Every Breath You Take", "King of Pain", and "Wrapped Around Your Finger":

I see a few people have mentioned 'More Fool Me' - I actually quite like that one, but would agree it's far from a classic.
There aren't actually any Genesis tracks I truly loathe. Sure, there are a few later Collins era tunes that are pretty bland and fairly forgettable, but nothing that really makes me retch.........except......
