Listened to the 666 album by Aphrodites Child after a few bowls, pretty cool experience.... My friend (whom never heard of them before) and myself smoked up and listned to the Ocean album, that was a kick ass roller coaster ride, hmmm....... oh yeah The Greatest Show On Earths second album is alllso another one, oh yes, I was really lifted into heaven when I heard Credo by Refugee the middle slow section with the church organ, never forget that, its like climbing a golden sstairwell to heaven, or or remember that one scene in Alice in Wonderland where she is falling down into Wonderland, well when I listened to that, I felt like I was going up that passage.... Some memories of listening to Mainhorse (with Moraz), espically the last track God, pretty trippy, liek the opening spacey syntesizers, the middle part where the guys sings something "take a look into my eyes and try to see through my disguise, I swear to you I am not Lucifer" and you here a ghostly piano in the background going along with it", I listened to Flaming Youths album the first 20-25 times stoned, honestly, there are times where I can just put that album on, and won't even have to smoke in order to get into that state of mind. Many times listened to Yes, pretty much all of their albums that way, wow list goes on, still some kick ass times.....

Frank Zappa with:
Nasal retentive calliope music (God, it's God, I see God (E.C.))
The chrome plated megaphone of destiny
Lumpy Gravy pt 1 (first 8 minutes)
Brown shoes don't make it
I wonder what it would be like listening to these songs for the first time just after taking some...

I only smoke weed, but my favorites while gettin all Cheech and Chong are:
Ozric Tentacles
Hidria Spacefolk
Flower Kings
Zappa
Gong
Porcupine Tree
Mahavishnu
Grateful Dead
John Coltrane
Miles Davis
Thelonius Monk
P.S. In college, I dropped 3 hits of acid and played the Butthole
Surfers. My advice to you: don't do this. I literally had to go sit
outside in the quiet for about an hour afterward, just to get my head
together again.

Nobody needs drugs to enjoy music, i think every drug user here will agree with you. However, music can be greatly enhanced by drug usage, taking it to a whole new level.
Jade Warrior - Last Autumn's Dream is fantastic to listen to when stoned. Progressive rock with oriental influences. This album may appear boring to a lot of people though.

Here, I have an idea. How many people here have never tried drugs in their life? Me, for one... Who else?

I have been absolutely WOWed by The Ancients (Giants Under the Sun) by Yes before when really stoned.
Of course, I think when you're stoned, most music can pull you in if you really stop to listen to it.

The best is getting totally into conceptual sh*t. I love doing shrooms to Wish You Were Here... the beginning of Shine On totally pulls me in. Relayer is also amazing, i cant get enough of The Gates of Delerium. I'm thinking about trying some sh*t while listening to Octavarium, i figure the upward crescendo of that song will be amazing!

Strangers passing in the street by chance two separate glances meet and I am you and what I see is me. And do I take you by the hand and lead you through the land and help me understand the best I can

It's easier for minors to get illegal drugs than it is to get
cigarettes and alcohol these days if the "I ID" programs are actually
enforced. Students in surveys admit to having tried marijuana
that have never smoked cigarettes or had alcohol and cite that it is
hard to obtain the latter than it is illegal drugs. Hell, if I
want to get pot, I'd find a high school student.
Also note that marijuana is actually neuroprotective and recent
research in Alzheimer's rat models that cannabinoids were able to
prevent Alzheimer's pathology. It's impossible to overdose on it
as well.
Your friend most likely was using MDMA, which is often used as a positive control for experiments requiring neuronal death.

I'm not just talking about pot. She's been into cocaine, LSD and
even crystal meth for a little while (although she does drink and smoke
a ton of pot as well). Not that I'm saying all of you guys will
also go that far, I'm just saying not to.

I am very dissapointed that some of you advocate drug use...especially with prog.
I have enjoyed this website becouse It seemed to me that everyone on this website are responsible and educated people(and many are im sure) who do not need drugs to enjoy there music. It is a shame that some of you advocate drug use bieng full grown adults and forget that alot of people on this website are young and gullable. We need to be rolemodels. Prog is about music not drugs.

Frank Zappa's "Lumpy Gravy" is a classic amongst my stoner buddies.
Jethro Tull is great for a quiet smokin' session, same with King Crimson.
Today (after several bowls) I popped in John Zorn's "Naninani II" and before I knew what was happening I was on the ground in convulsions and screaming, all whilst slamming my head into my coffee table. Today was the first time Zorn's ever made any sense.

I drink heavily to all prog. No drugs. Not anymore anyway. But my favorite bands to drink to are Pink Floyd, especially Meddle, VDGG, and King Crimson. My favorite CD to get trashed to? Marillion's Clutching at Straws, an album about alcoholism. Go figure.
