From what I understand, it is sold out from publisher (in the UK)

I hope it comes to the US soon.

If in England it's sold out, then I will give up searching in Iran and googling and asking people for a copy for any price... Cry

I found it at Barnes & Noble about two weeks ago, and am quite happy with my purchase. Yes, the price is a bit steep, but no more so than other quarterly mags published in the USA which I buy on a regular basis. And then, in Italy, believe it or not, British mags costing £ 3.99 were sold for € 10, or even 12 Shocked

Anyway, I was rather impressed by the CD, which features a number of interesting bands (I will try to get Blood Ceremony in Heavy Prog) - though not so much by the reiteration of the statement that Camel were amongst the pillars of the Canterbury genre Confused

Update from Classic Rock magazine on issue 2:

Classic Rock Presents Prog Editor Jerry Ewing tells all about issue number 2 of our magazine about all things prog!

Issue 2 of Classic Rock Presents Prog hits the streets in the UK today. Bearing in mind issue 1 sold out, we’ve increased the print run of the new issue as well as having increased the amount of stock being held at www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk, so hopefully some of you won’t experience the difficulty finding the new issue as you did with the launch.

Issue 2 comes with the wallet featuring, as you can see from the image, Muse, The Mars Volta and Radiohead, with Mike Oldfield, Van der Graaf Generator and King Crimson looking on. All are interviewed in the new issue, along with Dream Theater, Dave Stewart, IQ and snooker legend Steve Davis, who lets us have a peek at his record collection. And of course there’s the results of your votes for The Top 50 Prog Albums of All Time, which makes for fascinating reading and will no doubt spark wild debate amongst you prog fans.

I was happy to see KC included in #2. Did I read it right that they interviewed KC? Fripp? Wetton? Levin? Bruford? Belew? Past or present? I will have to look at getting this one. The VDGG should be and interesing read as well.

THERE IS A BUZZ IN THE AIR ABOUT HAKEN - SLOWLY BUT STRONGLY THEIR MUSIC IS COMING TO PEOPLE'S ATTENTION - if you enjoyed the beautiful Black Seed you will love their other work on myspace.

Hi. I've been following Haken for two years and they can really deliver live. Supporting Riverside at The Underworld. Opening for KINGS X at The Wulfrun Hall and The Electric Ballroom. Headlining the House of Progression with Anchorhead, Season's End and into the Woods. Awesome guitar and keys talent on stage - Hen and Tom play with To-Mera, who have shared the stage with Emperor, Dream Theater, P.of S. and Adagio. Charlie plays with the mythical Anchorhead and Linear Sphere who have shared the stage with Cynic.

They are recording their debut album in the Summer for a full label release in January 2010 - all completely brand new music - more news in the Autumn.

YOU NEED TO SEE THIS BAND LIVE.

Big show coming up at the House of Progression in KIngston on Saturday July 11th - they aim high this band - they will play all the music live, from their debut album ,for the very first time - a World Premier. Would be great for the band to have a packed house.

They have a show at the Freebutt in Brighton on July 17th, a shorter set with three other bands. I have never failed to come out of a HAKEN gig without a smile on my face....Shaken by Haken.

Haken is easily the worst piece on that secoind issue sampler CdCd, which was much morse than the first issue cd.

Soo out of 24 tracks presented so far over the two Cds, Haken comes in at 25th.

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

As well as Black Seed - why not check out some more HAKEN?

In the interests of getting an informed view of a Band's work it is a good idea to listen to several tracks and, if possible, catch them live.....always in a spirit of respect for the effort, dedication and love that the musicians put into their craft.

I have already declared my interest in and excitement about HAKEN but, as with all bands and artists, we will want to follow our own ears, heart and judgement to form a personal opinion....without fear or favour, negative competition or anger.

I think Black seed is a beautiful track, but it's choice for the CD was probably dictated by length, rather than it being essentially representative of HAKEN's work.

Check out their other 5 tracks on the myspace player and decide for yourself.

Very impressive publication.

Thought their top 50 was much more in line with my view of reality than the PA one.

This is complete crap, as Raff points out. Camel were NEVER a Canterbury band; not at all!!! OK, a few Canterbury musicians joined them at times, but I groan when I hear this on this site or anywhere else.
