What's wrong with the KC one is that the member happens to like KC, but when it comes to other bands he is extremely bad at structuring critique or productive points against the album or their sound...

He's just overly biased, that's all...

But I'm sure that's obvious enough...

Well, thanks a lot, James Le... I'm from Poland & still learning English;) I hoped that "collaborator" didn't want to advertise THAT CLASSICAL album for the fans of TOOL... It sounds (for me) like heresy, but I'm just a 21st century schizoid man...

I listend to frances and wasn't impressed - BUT in no way would I review the CD because I didn't get beyond the 2nd track - I always listen to music LOUD and TMV frightened me at the volume I had it at !!!

Those reviews were obviously by people who were also frightened, so why review ?? -

However - I would be wary of anybody who thinks that TMV are the BEST prog band ever............

Sorry, if I get this wrong. But what's actually wrong with the 'The Power to believe' album by KC?

I'm listening to it right now, and it is an absolutely amazing album.

Or was the fact that this bloke compared it to Tool that caused all the 'drama' (don't know a different word for that right now, so please don't feel offended )

All the KC reviewer was saying was that fans of Tool would probably like "Power to Believe". Nothing wrong with that statement. I think he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

even I!!! dont think that they are the best prog band ever. but i do think they are the best prog band since the 70s. there have been many other good acts since tho.

I agree! TMV is the finest prog act since the death of original prog of the 70's. I think Tangerine Dream's Force Majeure from 1979 really defined the end of true progressive rock at that point.  There was Marillion, but let's face it, they're not very prog, and their music is mostly crap.
That's how I see it..

Thanks for the comments about my reviews, they are much appreciated, and I try to be as accurate as possible.

I also know the guy who did those KC reviews, I can't wait to tell him that they've been deleted.

ok, first of all, i have no idea why my KING CRIMSON review was deleted . . .

even stranger, though, is that i cant believe why my THE MARS VOLTA review was deleted . . . i said nothing offensive, i gave it 2 stars because i believe it truly is "just for the fans" and i gave a clear and concise reason why i didnt think it was particularly good . . .

if this is the kind of community this is that deletes legitimate reviews simply because they arent the status quo, then i believe i will no longer be visiting this otherwise useful site . . .

i thought fans of prog were reasonably intelligent and open-minded, but it appears otherwise . . .

thank you for offending me and my opinions . . . youve done a great job . . .

hmm ya, I'm wondering too... I can't really read the MARS VOLTA one, but the beginning seems ok, same for the KC one.

I'm pretty sure that they got deleted accidentally.

3 stars  —   I just got my hands on a nr mint original copy of Atom Heart Mother. I have never heard this album before but had heard that it was one of Floyds more ‘difficult’ albums to listen to. I put it on and was really only half listening as I was working on my computer at the same time. Parts of it reminded me of Zappas orchestral/prog/jazz stuff. After side on had finished I went to put side 2 on and then I realised I had been listening to the whole of side 1 at 45rpm!!!! This I have never managed to do before even after a few jars!! I shall give it another listen tomorrow - surely it will improve. Martin
 
 
Well, I don't think Martin should be shot, but he should not have wasted useful Web server space with such a silly review. Why didn't you at least wait for a few days and listen to the album a few times to give yourself time to form a proper opinion, Martin?
