Atkingani comes from a Eastern European dialect (Greek or Ladino) and means "gypsy". The original word was probably "atkinganos" which originated cigano, in Portuguese and also: cygane, tzigane, etc. in other languages.
Guigo is a long-time established family nickname! ![Wink](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif)

I made mine up ages ago. It doesn't have any real significance other than the pronunciation somewhat resembles the word "arcane." It was used for a sorcerer character for a story I was writing at the time, and I decided to use it for the first message board I signed up to.

Thanks, aa! ![Smile](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif)
The word reached Portugal, probably around 1500, with -tk- (a variant maybe); that's the reason the original form in the Portuguese language was 'kingano', later changed to the present form 'cigano'. ![Wink](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif)

My username is hardly a crypographer's nightmare; but I rather wish I was a Welsh KC fan & could thus use the name "Epitaff"

A few years ago I heard of someone who classiffied Yes fans in two groups: 70's Yes fans were called "Troopers" (due to the song "Starship Trooper") and 80's Yes fans were called Generators ("Big Generator"). So I decided I was more a "Trooper". And as my spanish name is Eduardo (Edward or Eddie in English) my nickname is Eddie-Trooper.
