Thanks for posting that....was not aware of them.....thought at first it was an unknown early version of the British band. That's one I'll pick up for my collection. The kind of thing Psychedelic Paul would also like. |

This one popped up on my listening list last night, and I was so impressed I added it to my "Top Prog" list. It had been a while since I heard Octobre; a fantastic band/album! Could not find the studio version on Youtube, but the live is pretty decent too: Edited by zwordser - April 29 2020 at 13:26 |

At one point this band was pretty well known in US prog circles but these days I would say they are rather obscure(same thing with Mastermind). |

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

I only discovered that band in the last year. It was quite a surprise that there are still so many excellent obscurities from the early era of prog. You probably read my review that i awarded 5 stars to.

Pretty cool. Definitely worthy of the prog kingdom. The problem probably resulted in that it didn't fit in any particular team's subgenre. That is a weak point here at PA. Which team rejected it? It could fit in for eclectic me thinks. Roman Bunka cool too. Thanks for sharing these

Found this band from Kazakhstan only recently (but actually they are national heroes in their country). The band is called Dos Mukasan, not an entirely prog band, but they have beautiful vocal harmonies.
Probably their proggiest piece, "Betpak dala" (means "A Hungry Steppe"), from their first LP (1976): Edited by NotAProghead - May 04 2020 at 21:26 |

Hi,
Good gracious ... I just got to page 3 after 5 hours of listening. Some great stuff here! Can we keep it going? ... I'll add one or two if I can find the right information.

It's funny you should mention that, Dr Wu, because Fantasy's "Paint a Picture" album was the seventh album I reviewed here seven months ago, but reading back through my album review just now, it's an embarrassingly boring review to read through again, where I appeared to have had a sense-of-humour bypass and there's no real narrative flow to it either, so five stars for the superb album, but two stars for my poor review, or maybe I'm just being my own worst critic.
