A trip to the library yesterday netted me some interesting albums that I will be able to check out for a first time to see what y'all are talking about. I was able to find Animal Collective's MPP, the Sigur Ros album with the naked guys on it , Captain Beefheart's Trout Mask Replica, and Dredg's Catch Without Arms. |
All of those are good.

It's snowing like crazy here I ended up trying to help a van guy in trouble in the middle of our dog walk a moment ago.
Also I'm going to be my cousin's best man next summer, that should be interesting...

Wow, Alex and Bird, your music is weird. Can't say if I like it or not yet, but it is definitely unique.

Hell, I haven't even got a Zappa or Rush album either. My dad has one KC album which I bought him as a gift a few months ago (Larks Tongues In Aspic) and I hate it. |
Oi. Get out! LTiA is epic win. It's in my top 5 albums of all time and it's easily KC's best album. Sort that hatred out dude.

"Larks' Tongues" is a great album, but it definitely is an acquired taste. While I immediately loved "Exiles" and "Easy Money," the title track took a few listens to fully understand.

Then it wouldn't be an acquired taste in the first place.
Anyways, the album I'm listening to right now is definitely an acquired taste.

If it's Krautrock, I'll likely dislike it.
Can are overrated.

I don't like Tago Mago that much. Amon Duul II weren't bad but I could live without them.
I really haven't listened to enough of it to form a full opinion yet.

My opinion is that there is good Krautrock and Krautrock that I don't like.

You can pretty much say that with any music. Well, any Prog sub-genre.

No, they are definitely Eclectic Prog. I actually don't know much about Eclectic Prog, but from the other (two) bands I've heard from that genre, it seems to be somewhere between Symphonic and Avant.

The apple room is all about making the apples fall and not being there for them to hit. I am stuck on the next screen (the spikes and cloud one)

I don't like the genre Eclectic Prog all that much. It means nothing really. Yes, they're a cross between Symphonic Prog and Avant-prog to my ears too. They used to be in Symphonic Prog but people kept saying they weren't Symphonic Prog when they at least do have a lot of Symphonic elements in their music.
