Only just seen that, not a surprise on either count. I wonder what will happen if Piquet starts beating Alonso?LOL They will be more competitive than Fisi, but I'm not sure about Kovy, he's a top line driver.

A sickening site that video. Touring car racing is much need of safety drive in side on impacts, Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen was badly hurt in the DTM opener at Hockenheim this April (only just made it back to fitness in time for Le Mans) and a driver in Ausie V8 Supercars lost their life at Bathurst in the same way last year. Maybe something will finally be done and soon.

BTW, do you know if Rafael was related to the Sperafico twins, Ricardo and Rodruigo(sp?)?

No, just heard it from you. Oh man, I hope that will be as great as it sounds!

And I didn't see it happening, but Fernando DID go back to Renault? LOL

Rafael was a cousin of the twins... in fact, the Sperafico family has more than 8 people in the motorsport business.

I've got some good news to bring today, Kovaleinen has signed on with McLaren next to team up with Hamilton. Thats going to be quite a partnership I think, and should probably work due to the apparent lack of ego with either driver.

Schumacher vs. Johnson in the ROC. I laugh at this!

Wow, just yesterday read that De La Rosa would be the second McLaren driver, will he stay in the team anyway??

Kovalainen must demonstrate why he signed with McLaren, good news indeed, let`s see if his relationship with Lewis help the team for a title.

Do you know if Fisichella managed to stay in Force India??

De la Rosa will stay as third driver while Garry Paffet will stay as a test driver.

I dont think that Force India have made a decision on who will partner Sutil next year, but I think Fisi is still in the running. However, Ralf Schumacher is definitely out of F1 for next year, no one wants him.

I was fortunate enough to be at the race of champions yesterday. Big%20smile

It was a great afternoon and evening's entertainment with a very touching tribute to Colin McRea which included his WRC Championship winning Subaru being given pride of place in the centre of the arena.

The cars were all entertaining but the best were easily the ROC buggies and the SolutionF silhouette racers.

The entertainment between races was a mix of good and bad (the cheerleaders). A real highlight was the display put on by the Red Bull and Scuderia Toro Rosso F1 cars driven by David Coulthard and Sebastian Vettel between their driving duties in the main event.

Despite Mr Schumacher's efforts Team Germany still won the nations cup thanks to Sebastian Vettel's  excellent driving and the main race of champions was even more entertaining with some real nail biters and an excellent final.

Does Schumacher drive those RoC cars the same way he drives taxis?LOL

He may drive a taxi faster than a ROC

Schumacher was untouchable in the ROC buggies but in the rest of the cars he was much easier opposition, as Kovalienen found out when he managed to overtake him following a stall from Schumacher. LOL

LOL Well Takuma Sato did have a few surprises. MAYBE it's not out of the realm of possibility?
Wait, no it is.

I'm really pulling for Robet Kubica to win a race next year. Him and Heikki Kovalainen (sp???) Cry

Sato is a very fast driver, and underated it seems, whereas Yamamoto is an OK driver but nowhere near good enough to make a career in F1.

And no, I dont think anyone wants him for next year.

The first of the 2008 cars, the Ferrari F2008:

I'd just like to point out this is the fourth car designed by Aldo Costa's team, not the second, he took over in 2005.

You know, I'm good at telling the difference between F1 cars year on year, but this looks near identical to the 22.

Again McLaren have produced a stunning car, although it is very similar to last years probably because if it was a bit more radical in design Ferrari would probably raise hell. Speaking of Ferrari this year's car is very ugly IMO.

We have our third car launche now, the Toyota TF108:

This looks, aerodynamically, a far more agressive car than last years and just by the look of it I've got a feeling that they will do much better with this car (as long as they havnt muked up the numbers as badly as Honda did last year), god knows they need to start doing something right.
