I've been afraid to check it out, I love Jesu's first album and EP, and like you, I'm not too keen on their later stuff, nor bands that make one song albums...

Gnaw Their Tongues in PA !! i can't belive this, i heard one album Reeking Pained and Shuddering, and i'am sure it wasn't progressive neighter post metal, it is painfull music , it kills brain cells..i made huge effort to listen album till end and not throwing the cd out of the window. some unpleasent noise and shrieks at it's worst. one cannot hear guitars there , only some drones and irritating sounds..

Yeah, my biggest complaint with it is that it's one song and it doesn't need to be since there are so many distinct sections and no real repeating themes.  Some parts are awesome and some parts are lame.  There are even harsh vocals at one point, which is actually kind of cool and I think a first for Jesu.

The other complaint is that at certain times, particularly early in the track, it's really obvious that he's using a drum machine (he always does, but it's not always so blatant).

So I saw Burst last night on a whim, and I have to admit, that night will go down in my top three best concerts ever. They were s passionate, and energetic, I couldnt help but want to just lose myself and headbang my ass off. It was an incredible show! Please see them if they come to your town, this is their last tour, and they're breaking up after it!

YOU OWE IT TO THEM!

I LOVE GTT.  So powerful, so dark, so disturbing (to most people).... just overwhelming and intense!  f**king amazing project.  His black metal side-project, De Magia Veterum is great as well.

Excellent mix of post metal, doom and stoner.Their first album "Neptune With Fire" was good but their newest "Of Sound Mind" is absolutely superb.

Hope to add these guys to the DB soon if they get cleared.

I Heart this band so much.  I wish I got to see them, but they're not coming to pittsburgh.  Both of their albums are just really great.

I am, however, going to see Gojira in a couple weeks.

Honestly,I feel the same way I did when I first listened to The Fire In Our Throats Will Beckon The Thaw.I'm very pleased with this release, which is a huge step up from City Of Echoes.Mind you,I don't dislike CoE like a lot of Pelican fans do,it's just not as good as their previous two albums.
