You think they'll release an album in 08?

Or OM
or Tides
or Conifer
or Irepress

OR ISIS?

I would love a new Isis album, that goes without saying.

But out of the others I NEED more Omega Massif and Conifer.

If you want post that doesn't sound much like "traditional post" i would look at either God is and Astronaut, Ulver, or Siguir Ros. they stand out as sounding significantly different from your average godspeed knock off.

Josh you should read my post-rock reviews. Most of them are for bands that don't sound like traditional post-rock and need the attention.

I'll give you a little list:
WORLD'S END GIRLFRIEND
TOE.
BELL ORCHESTRE
FLY PAN AM
KAMMERFLIMMER KOLLEKTIEF
LAURA
MAGYAR POSSE
MASERATI
SAMUEL JACKSON FIVE, THE
SCRAPS OF TAPE
SILENCE KIT

There are still TONS of post-rock bands that are highly original (just like any other genre), but these are just some that will light your fancy for a while.

+1 as for SILENCE KIT, BELL ORCHESTRE and MAGYAR POSSE. I'd add SHORA and 65DAYSOFSTATIC to the list though

Conifer is absolutely great, but I hear they have personel problems, and only have three solid members. We can only pray!

Omega Massif is a given.

Just realized that ANY of you can get our KROBAK/KRIKSTON split in mp3 LEGALLY for FREE. I mean, some tracks are available on our MySpace pages, some - on LastFM ones and others can be downloaded on split's official page So this is a Free Music!!!

The only track which is not available anywhere is "The Fried Bull's Waltz", but seriously, if you already have the other 6 tracks from split and would like to write a review on it, PM me to get that one

I just got some Ulver, but the first album, so it's mostly black metal... which is okay, I love the atmosphere black metal gives.

Definitely.Like I said, with a few exceptions I am not a big fan of black metal.

I am listening to a good post metal band right now for the first time, they are called Generation of Vipers and the album is called "Dead Circle".

Good stuff.Clap
