So I bought Heima today... Mindblowingly gorgeous! I cant wait to find a bigger tv with a surround sound system to watch it on!
Dan, Same Same, but different is actually a pretty weak album, nothing too great there. Get Easily Misunderstood. It took me awhile to get into, but now I find it to be one of the most solid and original albums I own. Song for Sarah

Okie dokie, dropping by for the first time to post in a while.
I finally heard The Samuel Jackson 5 cos all you guys wouldn't shut up about them.
Basically, Itsy, you're a ghey lord and should listen to them more
instead of being a ghey lord whining ghey lord, because this is some of
the most interesting post rock I've heard in recent times.
Also, I realized that Wavering Radiant was only 4 out of 5 stars at
best for me, Oceanic is still my favorite from Isis, followed by
Panopticon. Also, this website is pretty goddamn boring now, goddamn it. I realized once again I really don't give much of a sh*t about "classic porg" and that I've been listening to more indie lately too, and less "porg". I listen to post metal and I'll be like "ITS f**kING METAL, NOT PROG" and post rock is like "ITS SOME KIND OF ROCK THAT IS TOO GOOD TO BE PROG". There is something weird about associating music with prog, so I just prefer to think post metal/math rock/post rock is not prog. This thread is cool, you guys always listen to new sh*t and don't argue over the same goddamn albums that have been around since 1969.

Yeah,I wish it was more than an EP.Hopefully there will be more tunes like the ones on Ephemeral on their next album.
I just got Pelican's split with Young Widows, and really like the Pelican track Inch Above Sand.

I havent heard that one. I've been binging the Pelican today, and have been really been anticipating a new album... REALLY REALLY BADLY! It seems with each listen they climb up my favorite bands list. I took a picture with the Herweg brothers at the Isis show, but it's on my friends blackberry

can i just say that Mogwai's latest The Hawk Is Howling is seriously awesome in a minimal understated way? I didnt like Mr Beast and their stuff from 1999's EP was patchy at best but this latest cd really slayed........the best downer music.........

I've never heard anything bad about the new Giant Squid, and I personally love it.

I do enjoy In the Absence of Truth, I need to give it a few more listens. And to Ian and Chris, I will try another album when I can.

Amoseurs is quite a weird mix for me... post-punk meets black metal hehe pretty good though, my friend is a huge fan!

I love it! They blend it pretty nicely, though I wish they'd put the two genres in one song throughout the album instead have a BM song folowed by a seperate post punk song. I love both vocalists though!

^Those are some fine groups! Though, a forest of stars is some of the weirdest stuff outside of Henry Cow I've ever heard.
