I've only heard pieces of #7, but really this is an album without comparison. It's the ultimate masterpiece out of 2007. Highly emotional playing and a fresh spin on the retro-progressive movement (which seems to have slowed off in the last year). 100% awesome.

You forgot a star.

I knew it. Tongue

That's the same comment I got for my Song For America review. LOL

The comment I received for my Song For America review was: "You forgot 2 stars" Wink

You forgot a star.

While you forgot to take a star from your review. Stern Smile

I'm listening to my least favorite Kansas album, and I still gave it three stars.  Tongue

I can understand you perfectly well, some of the least-inspired Deep Purple releases I still rate with three stars. Embarrassed

Though, got to admit I've given a 2 star review to a highly regarded Deep Purple album, shame on me.

Honestly Pablo, reading your review, it seems that part of your hang-up with Kansas is their sound.

I really think you should get a hold of Somewhere to Elsewhere.  It's a modern sound with heavier guitars and has many of their best compositions.  Also, if you don't like Steve's voice...well, after the 80s, Steve's voice is very different.  Wink

Seriously...Somewhere to Elsewhere is definitely one you should hear.  I don't think you will compare them to many other acts with that one.

In fact, if you have not, you can hear "Icarus II" here at Prog Archives.  It's an awesome song and will give you a taste of the album.

Yes, of course that it's their sound! Haha, but also there's also that part that I don't consider their compositions to match stuff like Roundabout, Yours is No Disgrace, Can Utility, Advent, et al.

They're good musicians and know how to compose some solid prog rock compositions, but nothing is really out-there for me.

I've listened to Icarus II from YouTube but can't say I'm fond of it. Embarrassed
