Well, TMV and C&C sound musically quite different, but I guess Claudio and Cedric have similar voices, kinda. I definitely hear Rush and Zep in Coheed, though. 'Welcome Home' sounds like the song in my username, on steroids!
It would indeed be great if PT finally cracked the US market. You could actually buy their albums in shops, then! But of course, you could then say goodbye to getting hold of limited edition items, saying hi to the boys after the gig, and getting a spot in the crowd metres from Steve Wilson.

Eagerly awaiting the regular release of the live DVD next week. The local chain has been good about carry new PT releases so hopefully instant gratification next Tuesday. Also rather cool that they picked Atlanta to record their new live album.
The last concert I caught was in fact PT live in Atlanta on the Deadwing tour. Unfortunately it was standing room only and I'm getting too old for that kind of crap. Also made worse by me getting stuck for a while in front of three jerks who weren't there to enjoy the music but rather talk very loudly about how bad the band was. An excellent interview with Steven: http://www.innerviews.org/inner/ptree3.html
He talks in detail about his production values, his instruments, his creative process and lots of other stuff. I hope it wasn't posted already! |

Just received my copy of the No-Man albums Wild Opera/Dry Cleaning Ray.
A K-scope note inside said that we could look forward to a new Blackfield III cd soon. Anyone else hear anything about that? |

Yeah... it's probably nearly done or perhaps already complete. Another great SW release to look forward to!

Yeah, sucks. I could have pre-ordered from the Burning Shed, if I had a burning desire to get a hold of it as soon as possible. The local chain discounts things on the first day or so of a new release, so patience is a virtue. |

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

^ Wow, that's really cheap! I think the standard edition pre-order through Burning Shed was about 15 dollars.... so that's a pretty good deal.

I just bought the BluRay+DVD version at green price! That was a bit bellow 20 euros, which is very cheap for France. I'm not going to open it, though, because Monday I'm going to give it to my gf as a birthday present

If any of you who missed out on ordering the deluxe edition of no-man's Wild Opera are interested, it's available on amazon for 13.99, and starts shipping June 29: http://www.amazon.com/Wild-Opera-Dlx-No-Man/dp/B003H3D29S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1277631479&sr=8-1
They sold out over at Burning Shed, and I'm not sure how long until (or if) they restock their supplies. Highly recommended, comes with the album, an EP from the album sessions, and a load of B-sides all remastered in a sexy Digibook |

Anyone getting the Wilson/Mikael Akerfeldt/Mike Portnoy project when/if it finally comes out? I'm a big fan of all their bands, so I will definitely be checking it out.

Definitely will be getting that album... Loved DT for a while (not so much now) but absolutely love Opeth and PT as I'm sure you know I have no idea what it'll be like.

Cheers for that, that was a great interview. I think Wilson is a bit too modest about his guitar playing, though. As well as a fantastic singer and songwriter, he's a very good guitar player, too, IMO.
